I ordered a personal healthcare product from Allegro Medical Supplies on a Thursday night in late February of 2009 and it arrived in the following Monday's mail, here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Allegro had the only discounted price that I could find anywhere on the Web for this product. It was roughly a 35% discount on an item that no other Web merchant was discounting at all. The transaction went perfectly smoothly. I had no need for customer service, so I can't address that issue. I would definitely do business with them again!

I purchased a neck pillow in August and misplaced it, so I bought replacement a few months later. The same exzct SKU (description), except the price was a little higher the second time and the replacement product was not anywhere near as good. In fact, it is so uncomfortable that I do not use it.
I wrote Allegro about this matter and they've ignored me. They didn't have to answer because the time had lapsed on my credit card purchase. I can see why so many others are complaining about their customer service.
The final take on this, is that Allegro is a cheesy bait and switch vendor. This is NOT an honorable company. Buyer stay away!
I would never purchase from this vendor again. I ordered a sound machine that was backordered, so I waited about two months for it to arrive. When it finally did, it was not the sound machine that I ordered. I emailed Allegro, no response. I had to call three times, they continually said they would get back to me and they never did. Finally I said I just wanted my money back and they said they would send me a return label, I have yet to receive it.
My experience with this site has been very good. I've never had to contact the customer service department because I've never had a problem. Some of the stuff they sell seems aimed for doctors and hospitals but I found lots of home health care & comfort products that I like with good prices.
DON'T TRUST THE OTHER REVIEWS. They are either posted by owners/employees of the company or VERY lucky buyers. I ordered 3 pair of shoes in November. One was no longer available and did not ship but I was charged for it anyway. The other two pair were sent back (they did not fit) after fighting for an RMA number. When I did not received credit after 6 weeks, I tried contacting their customer service which was fruitless. I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge.
NOW THEY HAVE POSTED NEW CHARGES TO MY CREDIT CARD!! They processed the credits so that they could tell my credit card company to close the dispute but then proceeded to make new, completely UNAUTHORIZED charges to my account!
THESE PEOPLE NEED TO GO TO JAIL FOR WHAT THEY DO! DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!

I purchased a pedal exerciser from Allegro on June 19. It didn't show so I called and asked about the shipment. Only then did they tell me it was backordered and that it would ship June 30. The next day, I received an email saying it would not ship until July 10. On July 12, I sent an email expressing my dissatisfaction and asking where my product was. No response. On July 14, I called customer service again, and they said it was backordered until the end of July (not that I believe that date is true either). The customer service rep was completely unhelpful, could not guarantee when they would get the product and acknowledged that the website never said anything about a backorder. I still don't have my product, and I will not be buying from this company again.

How can these people still have four check marks. I think the averages should only be over the past year or so. All those four checks from 4 and 5 years ago make these people look good. Obviously something has changed recently. JUST LOOK AT THE LAST FEW MONTHS WORTH OF REVIEWS. I too have been waiting over a month for a credit to my CC. I've called 4 times (and of course have to sit on hold for 15 minutes before speaking to someone. I ordered something about two months back and wasn't even expecting it would turn out to be a nightmare. The product costs $28 and the usual delivery time. I tracked the product for ship date and it was forever showing not yet shipped. Note at this time my credit card was already charged. When I did a follow up phone call, the product is not available and is backordered. I was given a time frame for the order to come in. Two weeks going to three weeks, nothing happened. I called to cancel the order. Fine. They told me I will be refunded. From the time I cancelled up to this time, is about 1 month and a half. I already filed a complaint with FTC. To future shoppers, guard your hard-earned money!
I ordered an item from this merchant about 3 wks ago and while the seller had the items I needed and order transaction went smoothly, the shipping charges were outrageous (shipping to Hawaii). I only had one option for a shipping carrier and that was UPS.
UPS was late an additional day in delivering the package due to the address being "illegible". Their website was easy enough to navigate and prices on the items I needed were okay.

I ordered a "no-hands mouse" on 7/15/04 from the Allegro Medical web site. The web site said it was in stock. It's now more than a month later and still has not arrived. I called them for the third time today and spoke with a nice lady who said she'll "keep an eye on my order" this week and contact me with its status. Each time I called I was told it was shipping soon. One guy even told me it had "shipped Tuesday" (a week ago) but then in my more recent call the nice lady says it will be shipping this Friday.

I placed an order for bowflex power rods on 3/9/06 for a birthday gift that was on 3/27. By the 24th I still did not have the package or hear anything from the company. (my CC had already been charged) I called to find out what was going on. Here is how that went.

i ordered the raised toilet but it did not arrive. they already have charged my credit card for the item. i called them to verify my order and they told me that it has been shipped. it's almost 2 months now and still my order has not arrived. i tried to dispute the charge to my credit card company but to no avail. i called the customer service and they told me that they have the proof that the item has been shipped and they are going to email me the confirmation of shipment. as expected, i received no email from them. i have already been charged to the item i ordered but did not receive.

Very, very bad online shopping experience and extremely poor customer service. Due to a problem with their online shopping web site, I got a wrong size product. They charged a 20% restocking fee and had no exchanges policy. Wrong address was on the UPS label causing one week delay in shipping (order paperwork had my correct address). Had to call to get a RA number and they waited days to call back. No response to my e-mails. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!

After being notified by email that my order was processed, I continually checked via their website for tracking information. After several days I called to find out why no progress had been made and I was informed that the order was held up by non-approval of my credit card company (I doubt that very seriously). Then I was given a big hassle about using another credit card. Other companies will politely notify a customer if there is a problem and ask if another card could be used. Not these retards. Stay on top of any order you place.

I found Allegro Medical had a pretty broad selection of supplies on their website. I found an item that I needed to order and placed that order, on June 29th. It is now July 20th, and I have called twice to find out where my order is, but both times was told that they would call me back when they found out what happened, but both times those calls were never made. I feel they are giving me the runaround, and cannot fulfill the order. I have been billed on my credit card already as well. When I called today, they told me that there was a heavy demand for the item I ordered (a wheelchair tray), and that someone should have contacted me that they were back-ordered. Also, surprise, a new shipment had just come in, and they would try and expedite my order. Calling me back to confirm. Well, again, no call back, and I am still waiting. I cannot recommend this business.

I searched the internet for enema buckets, accidentally came upon their page for an enema bag, but it's got a PICTURE of a bucket and had the best price, so I ordered it... I did notice on the order confirmation it said "enema bag" but I figured that was just a mistake so I didn't argue about it at the time. Well of course here come enema bags, not buckets. They invite me to mail the bags back, but I have to pay shipping both ways, because they told me it's MY mistake and there's not a hint of apology for their deceptive photo on the item description. It isn't like they didn't know about it until now, because someone else already left a negative review at the bottom of the page! That person also wanted a bucket, like it shows in the photo. They haven't removed the misleading picture and apparently have no intention of removing it. They did not have the best price on enema *buckets*, I would have ordered from someone else if I hadn't been misled.
before you buy from allegro, make sure you know what you're buying or check your local stores or other internet sites. allegro is more expensive that you thought because they have very deceptive advertisements thinking that you are getting what you buy. and if you decide to return the item, they will charge you for 20% - 30% restocking fee which is one way of getting more money from you. read their disclaimer and return policies before buying from them.

DO NOT order from Allegro. The "in stock" items soon became backordered. The backorder promise date was revised THREE times. A month-and-a-half after placing my order, the tracking system said it was delivered. When I called about it, the "customer service" rep said it was a data error, the items were still not in stock, they couldn't tell me when the manufacturer would ship to them, and wouldn't let me speak to anyone else. I called the manufacturer myself, and they advised that they were not shipping to Allegro. They couldn't disclose the reason, but suggested I cancel the order and referred me to ExpressRamps.com. Express has the items in stock at a comparable, free shipping (Allegro charged $112), and will arrive within 3-5 days. I was charged for the order on the date of purchase, but when I cancelled the order, they said "it could take a while" to credit my account. I have the impression the company is in financial trouble and therefore not able to have stock to ship.

I ordered a foam mattress. After not having received the item after several days, I checked the tracking information on the company website which indicated item was "awaiting shipment". On the first call I was told item could be located and shipped in a day. After a few days, the status on the tracking had not changed from "awaiting shipment". I called again (on Oct 9)and was told item was on backorder with no date of shipment. I chose to cancel and was advised credit would be issued. After 2 more phone calls and an email, I am still waiting for my credit. Bottom line: You have to be proactive to get any information about your order and extracting a credit from this company. They charge your card the minute you order and judging from the other reviews, only issue credits to the squeaky wheels. I do not blame the reps in the call center, clearly the problems lie with the core business practices of this company. I will never order from this company again

This is an unethical supplier. The comany confirmed a shipping date and charged my card for an item that they did not have in stock. Eight days later, I received an email stating the item was backordered. They lied about the shipping date, held my money for eight days without telling me the truth, and then said it would be another 3 weeks until the product might be available. Sounds like a scam to me! I needed a rolling walker for my mother who is having difficulty getting around her apartment. I was thrilled to find a supplier that was reasonably close and could ship so quickly. After 15 days and no communication, I sent an email to check on the status of my order (surely an online store with this kind of volume should have a way to check on an order status online). The email wasn't answered. I tried the online customer support, but there were no operators available. So finally, I called. I was told that the item is backordered, which was news to me, and wouldn't be shipped for another 2 weeks. But, they had already charged my credit card even though they didn't have the product. Very very poor service.
I tried purchasing a bike. The on-line site showed a next-day shipping date. A week later, I was told that there was a two-week lead time before shipping. Good prices but shady on the shipping. It was supposed to have shipped within 24 hours but I'm still waiting for it to even leave and it's been three days. Their customer service said that's normal and that their website only says that the order is ready. Basically, they're misrepresenting; oh well. You get what you pay for with this place.

I have had very poor luck with this company and would suggest you look elsewhere for your medical supplies. I have ordered products a few times and have been dissapointed each time. Very slow to process orders and many out of stock items - even though at the time of ordering, they were in stock. Their return policy is poor - costing you more than it is worth to return the product.
Placed order on March 23, 2006, order #M5860606. After several days and no product received, I called again and talked with CSR on Monday, April 3, 2006. She said that there apparently was a problem with the original order and she would ship it again and I should have it by Wednesday, April 5, 2006. No product received on Wednesday so I called again on Thursday and the CSR that answered said the order had been shipped but she could not give me a tracking number.
I called again on Friday, April 7, 2006, and talked with CSR "Brenda", who put me on hold for about 8-9 minutes and came back to me and said that she couldn't find the tracking information either and that she would reorder the product and I would have it on Monday, April 10. I told her to just cancel the order and I would try to find it here in Nashville.
After calling around, I found the same product(Juven) at Costco pharmacy for $18.00 less than Allegro charged me.
I have used Allegro twice in the past before this fiasco with excellent results.
I placed my order on Nov 07 2009 and it has been 12 days and the status still says awaiting shipment. Wish i had checked the reviews for this company before hand as it seems that I too am in for a long process of trying to either get my money back or receive my order. I too will never do business with this company again.
Ordered online. Credit card was charged also received an email stating product had shipped. A week later had not arrived and multiple emails to customer service went unanswered. Called and spoke to CSR and he informed me product was on back order and would ship 4 days later. 10 days AFTER that, I called customer service again and product was still on back order. Allegro Medical offers products on their website you cannot actually buy from them, at least not at the price shown and not anytime soon. When you call them, assuming you talk to someone who actually understands anything, they will try to talk you into some other product that is more expensive than the one you saw on their website. Classic bait and switch, which is illegal in most states. Very poor business practice. Beware.

Bad and dishonest. DO NOT order from them. My order became backordered - I was never informed until I called follow up the shipment. Cancelled my order and took forever to process refund. Called 4 times each week for 4 weeks to follow up on the refund, being told "Your refund is in process, it should take 3-5 business days". Requested to speak to supervisor but she is never available. Requested to have supervisor call me back, never called me back. Customer service is not helpful, don't know what is the "real" status of my refund or refuse to tell me the truth? I finally received my refund after a month of battle with them. This is the WORSE online shopping experience.

I ordered through amazon a keyboard tray which costs about $28 but the only thing that arrived to me was the wrist rest without the keyboard tray. From amazon website and allegro website, it states that "kit includes Retractable Keyboard, Sliding Mouse Pad, and Soft Wrist Rest."

In the last six months, Allegro Medical has failed to deliver the quantity of product that I ordered and paid for. They corrected their error the first time.
Despite six emails to both their "customer service" and nominal president, they've failed to correct their most recent error. In fact, they haven't even responded to the emails.
I'm forced to challenge payment through my credit card company.
I ordered items on June 26th. The product pages show no indication that the items are unavailable. They INSTANTLY charge my card on June 26th. Four days later, June 30th, I receive an email stating that the items are unavailable. Email gives no estimated availability date. Just states that items are not in stock. I call immediately on June 30th to cancel the order. I am told that I will be credited in 3-5 business days. I do not receive email confirmation of cancellation. I am never credited. I call on July 16th wondering where my credit is. I am told the order was cancelled on July 6th. Huh? Why the delay? I give them a full 10 business days from July 6th, before sending an email to them stating that I will be getting my credit card/bank involved. The email is ignored-no response. At this point, they have held on to my money for nearly a month for an item they never had. Finally, after 15 business days from July 6th, the day they 'SAY' they cancelled the order, and still no credit, I call my credit card, and they are handling it from here.

I have been shopping at AllegroMedical.com for 7 or 8 years and I think they're great. They save me time and money when shopping for my family's medical needs and I can always find something for myself as well. Especially with all the new products on the website. It's not all medical equipment anymore so it's easy to find equipment for my home gym and unique gifts. The "bumbo seat" has become my standard baby gift. Mom's love it. Even when I have to talk to customer service about shipping or backordered products, they are always very professional and they do their best to make sure my shipments arrive on time. I just ordered a bath product to ship to my grandmother last week. She loves it! Thanks Allegro.
After ordering online on 8-29-09, waited 2 weeks for ordered items to arrive with no delay notification. When I called was told items were backordered with no expected delivery date, although my credit card had been charged immediately when order was placed. I canceled order, and after 4 weeks of the runaround, still have not been able to get a refund. They refused to let me speak with a company officer or a supervisor. Filed complaint today with Arizona BBB about this Ponzi operation. They take customer's money and won't give it back in order to finance their day to day operations. Must be a Bernie Madoff company. I spoke with my credit card company for help to get my money back. They said if they get enough complaints about a crooked merchant, they will drop them. All victimized customer of this place should complain to their credit card company (AMEX, M/C, Visa) to see if they will drop these crooks. Also bomb the Azrizona BBB with your complaints. Three strikes and you are out. I have given them three tries and all were flops. They sent the orders out piece by piece using various delivery companies and mixing up the tracking numbers each time. All three times the orders took more than 30 days to be completely delivered. The last time took over 72 days to be completely filled. And two returns. So, it was not a fluke, this is how they run their business. They take the money and let you beg and plead for your medical supplies with no consideration of how badly you need those items that you spent your hard-earned dollars on.
Over a period of about one month, I have contacted customer service five times to get credit for orders that were unfilled and cancelled. Each time I am told it is taken care of. To date, the charge is still on my credit card and the Allegro web site shows my orders still being processed.
This goes far beyond poor customer service. I am being strung along while they set on my money.

This company did not ship my order. They say it was backordered, but there was no communication from their sales or CSRs. Getting through to them telephonically was a nightmare, and I still have not received the promised refund. This company lacks integrity, and their management practices really leave a great deal to be desired. BE FOREWARNED! Seek items from another company that has learned to be consumer responsive...and let this company either come to its senses or shutter its doors. At the beginning of JUly, 2009, I ordered a specific type of medical wound dressing from Allegro. Within the hour, I realized that I still had some of this dressing and I sent an e-mail to Allegro's customer service canceling the order. Five days later the packahe arrived and I called Allegro. They told me that they were way behind on reading customer service e-mails. Impressive!
That was the beginning of a three month long campaign that I was required to mount to finally egt a refund from this company. Over this three months, too many people told me lies for it to have been a simple error. I e-mailed Allergro's President with my complete story. No acknowledgement -- no response.
This will of course have been my last order to Allegro Medical.

Ordered some crutches for expedited, more expensive, delivery because needed them soon. Thereafter, Allegro web site showed item awaiting shipment for two business days, so on third morning called customer service and was told they cannot get through to warehouse, but would check with them and call us back. Near end of day, they had not called, so we called them and then were told for first time crutches needed to be back ordered. When a customer orders a medical item for costly expedited delivery, it is obvious there is an urgent need, but this company just does not seem to care about details like asking a customer whether they can wait for a back order. I guess Allegra takes their cues from doctors and hospitals who have no concern for their patients' time and inconvenience. If that is the way you want to be treated, then Allegra will be just your cup of tea. Otherwise order elsewhere and first make sure a needed item is in stock.
I ordered Oct 6th, they charged my card and have yet to ship. It has been 13 days and it still shows "awaiting to be shipped" on their website. I am mad I didn't check out their reviews beforehand. They are impossible to get a hold of. Do not buy from them.

I ordered a pedal exerciser for my 86 yo dad from Allegro Medical. $$ was withdrawn from my account the next day. 10 days go by and I hear nothing. I call and learn it is on back order so I cancel the order and buy it elsewhere (he needs to exercise asap). I request a manager call me back. Never heard anything. I called again the next day and confirmed the order was canceled and again requested to speak to a manager and was told one would call me back. Again nothing. The next day I get email saying the order has been shipped. I call again and was told that it is my responsibility to return the order. Nothing they can do - still no manager available to speak to me. Meanwhile the second one I ordered elsewhere has arrived (the Allegro Medical one hasn't yet arrived). The experience is very frustrating : no communication, no access to help, no consideration for my 86 yo dad. I would advise everyone to avoid Allegro Medical - their customer service is non-existent and they clearly don't care about the customer experience.

Found out a week later that the product was backordered, even though it was listed as "in stock" on their website. Very bad experience. Ordered Pronex cervical traction device on 12/15/05, after having been assured item was in stock. Checked status on 12/19/05 ... initially told item had shipped on 12/16 ... when I pressed for a tracking number was told, oops, item back ordered until at least 12/22.
I don't mind errors so much, but it strikes me that they are being dishonest about what they do and don't have to sell.

I ordered a lift chair for my mother after spending all morning on the phone with customer service. Then Allegro Medical sends the WRONG SIZE ! I then had to again spend another 3-4 hours on phone & put on hold numerous times while trying to resolve this error on their part. Allegro Medical refused to send the correct size lift chair on the same day of picking up the wrong size lift chair. They wanted me to send the wrong size chair back first! NO WAY. This was Allegro's mistake and they should've corrected it ASAP ! ANY TRUST WAS GONE. And if I'd sent the wrong size chair back to them first, I'd probably be out of chair as well as $700 ! I even tried emailing the CEO of Allegro(got no response). Then emailed a partner who basically said sorry we lost your trust. We wish you health and happiness ! STAY AWAY from this company even if they have the lowest prices. It's not worth the hassle...believe me !!

On October 14 I cancelled the order and was told my account would be credited with my Refund. It is November 3 and still no refund. This Company will not return my phone calls or respond to my E Mails. They have my money and I have no product....is this THEFT????
First of all, the delivery of their products are slow. It took 9 days for an order of vitamins to be delivered. To top it all of, it wasn't the correct kind of vitamins that I wanted. I will never shop here again.

I will NEVER order from them again. It took about 2 weeks to receive my order and they only sent it out after I called a complained. When my shipment arrived, it was the wrong order. They did not provide me with the label to return the incorrect item nor did they did not send me my correct purchase. I had to call them weekly just so they would send me a return shipping label and refund my money. The whole ordeal took over two months and I still never received my order and getting a refund took over two weeks of calling. Their customer service people sounded nice on the phone but never actually did what they said they would so; i.e, return my call. They never transfered me to a supervisor or manager to file a complaint.
I spent so many hours on the phone and got nothing. I will never order from Allegro Medical again. Every aspect of doing business with them has been miserable.

I will never order anything from this site again! I ordered some night splints for my feet, and it has been over a month and they still haven't shown up yet. The website said, "Will ship in 1-3 days," and I only had ground shipping, which said "5-8 business days," so after 2 weeks of waiting I called to find out the status. I had to call 3 times before anyone would tell me what was going on. The first 2 times I spoke with someone, they said they would have to contact the warehouse and call me back. Never happened. Finally the third time, I got the same response, but I just told them I would hold. They said the item I ordered wasn't in stock (contrary to the website) and it wouldn't be in stock for another 2 weeks!! I'm almost afraid to cancel the order, I wonder how long it will take them to credit my card. I guess I'll just keep waiting...

They sent the wrong item. They sent the COMPLETE Cryo-Cuff ice bucket with the knee attachment. Then, when I called the number on the form that came with the merchandise, I was told that they were just the manufacturer and I would have to make another call to Allegro. According to the last person that I talked to, there was a computer glitch on the day the I placed my order. I paid an extra $20 to have it shipped overnight on Wed. and by the next Mon. I still hadn't received it. I called and it still hadn't shipped. I canceled my order at that time. I then received an email the next day and it said that it had shipped. I had to call again and they assured me that it didn't ship and that my email was just confirmation that you had given me a credit on my credit card. The next day, I received the package. They told me that they were going to have UPS pick it up "sometime" The next day, UPS came with another package, we both laughed and she took them both back even though she still hadn't received an order to pick up the first one. I paid $20 for expedited shipping of a product on Allegro's web site (Total Hip Replacement Convalescent Kit) which I needed for an upcoming surgery. Allegro billed my credit card immediately but did not send the product. I did not receive any e-mail from them regarding shipment, and had to e-mail them to ask about the status of my shipment. They responded that the product had been discontinued and they would credit my credit card. I find this unacceptable for two reasons: (1) Online merchants aren't supposed to bill your credit card until they have actually shipped the merchandise, and (2) Why are they advertising products that have been discontinued? On June 10th I ordered, online, a Toilevator. I cancelled our order by telephone and Email on June 12th. My wife decided to have a new, higher toilet installed instead. Yesterday I received the Toilevator and I now have to ship it back! Please inform Allegro. Read more

Great product. Came very quickly. I ordered another size via the internet, then called immediately to cancel. Somehow the cancellation didn't go through, and a two-day Express was received a week later! After another phone call the issue was resolved and Fed Ex came to pick up mistakenly shipped item. This was a "first" for me--I needed to purchase a cane for those times with my rheumatoid arthritis when I needed it. I was able to figure the size as well as the type of handle (Fritz) which would be fine for now. The cost was so reasonable, yet the cane is stylish! I ordered this product(shoulder ice wrap)using express shipping and 2 weeks later the product had not arrived. I called customer service, who told me the product had been shipping and they were tracking it and would call me back. They did not call me back, so I called customer service again. This time they told me the product was backordered and it was shipping out that day. They also promised to refund the express shipping charge, which they did not do. The item arrived 4 days later. The only thing I wasn't aware of when I placed the order was that the products might be shipped at different times from different providers. I learned later that this is the standard policy but wasn't aware of that when I first placed my order. Otherwise, they had everything I needed, I liked the free shipping and will use them again.
