Please update your links and prices - If a printer is sold, for example, you shouldn't be advertising it on and on when it is no longer available and there are no used or refurbished at that price. Don't just suck people in!

Consistently good, but slower delivery lately.

I've spend thousands at Amazon over the years and have never had a problem. However, in the past year, it seems their distribution network has become less organized and efficient. I often wait weeks now for an order to ship out that states "In Stock". Perhaps customers who use free shipping aren't as important as the ones who pay shipping charges, so we get to wait. I do like that I can on into my account and get an idea of when the order will ship, and for the most past, that information has been accurate. So, for me, Amazon works well. It saves me lots of money in gas (I live an hour from a Barnes & Noble or any other good sized bookstore)and sales tax. Gives me more to spend on books!

I have not shopped at Amazon for electronics, but have ordered many DVDs and books. Every order has arrived in a timely fashion. The orders also have been packaged very well to insure that they reach me in perfect condition. The pricing is competitive and often better than other on line stores.I will continue to shop at any Amazon site.

bad service, never again

My experience with Amazon was way less than satisfactory. It ended up being a big pain, because of differences between what was on the item description I called the customer service . That was a nightmare in itself The standard shipping cost on dealtime and on the Amazon site were different then what came up when I went to check out my item. The 2 day shipping was a lie,it said that if I ordered in the next 4 + hours that I would get my item on Friday ( I was ordering on a Weds) So I figured that it would be worth almost $18 shipping to get it that fast. I ordered right then And calling customer service was the terrible! I am not crazy about overseas call centers, but especially when they have little idea of what they are talking about. I will never use Amazon again
Also the merchant that was selling through Amazon had the same item twenty dollars cheaper on their website, which I had to go to because Amazon messed up my order and I had to change something before they sent it out.

Amazon provided poor support and charged me for the return when their web page provided incorrect data. When I wrote 2 reviews they did not post them but posted only glowing product reviews or positive reviews of themselves. I'll never shop there again.

Disappointed with Amazon when it came to shopping Electronics...

I ordered a Canon G5 camera on March 28th 2004 through Amazon. They promised to ship it by April 2nd and I would get the camera by April 6 - April 8th.
But on April 2nd, I get a mail/ Online Intimation saying the camera would be delivered only by May 26th.
Hence I cancelled my order and ordered it via BuyDigitalDirect.com. I ordered it on April 3rd, but got a mail asking me to contact them cause they had to verify my shipping address and I called them on 4th
Monday morning and I received my camera by April 5th Tuesday morning. Wow !! What more can I ask for?
P.S. This experience is only with Electronic Stuff I ordered via Amazon. I have shopped for Books via Amazon and they are the best. So, use your discretion between Books and Electronics.

Amazon Marketplace provides excellent order accuracy, delivery speed, and availability of products wanted. Since all my orders have been handled accurately, I have had no reason to use their customer service. I am sure it is excellent too.

Crappy customer service and super saver shipping policy

New Super Saver shipping policy of not sending out materials until 4-6 days after order is placed (even for items listed as "usually ships in 24 hours") equates to poor customer service. There is no reason to delay a shipment in a competitive market just because the company promises to ship the item for free. Barnes and Noble, for example, doesn't "hold" shipments that are free, nor do other retailers, and if I go to a retail store, I can get the product immediately without paying shipping costs and thereby spending as much as I would at Amazon for more costly shipping methods. I'll be happy to start buying books and music elsewhere.

Bad filters for used books, descriptions lack basic information.

While my husband has happily ordered tools from amazon, I have had a terrible time purchasing used and out of print books. First, the filters are so poor that it is difficult to tell whether a book is used, new, hard or soft cover; there are many in the wrong section. You basically need to email the seller (and it's not easy to find their contact info) to make sure you're getting what you want! Furthermore, the listings are by title, not isbn, so you can't even be sure you're going to get the correct item. E.G. I bought the music to Lady & the Tramp, and got the book of the same title. It's a terrible organizational system, and very frustrating to shop there.

Horrific!!!!!!!!!!

Hi....I really need to vent. I sold my Archos 604 media player via Amazon marketplace. Man,I should have read the terms and conditions extra extra carefully!
I sold it, the buyer received it.The product was opened, tried and then sold. It just seemed to be too much work for my husband to get videos on it. So without really using it we sold it. Hence, we know it was in perfect working condition.
The buyer received it, say it did not work the moment he switched it on and asked for a refund. Little did I realise I was forced to give him the refund as he described the product to be not 'as described'. Amazon even stated that the buyer is entitled to a refund, and also under no obligation to return the product.
Here goes my $270 Archos 604. I have no faith in such online marketplaces anymore. Really horrified by these terms since they favour fraud!!!

On a Saterday afteernoon, I searched for a book.I was amazed it only took a minute to locate, than the computer walked me through and customer service was great.I would shop there again and again.There variety and there easy to use web site with very good hyperlinks were amazing.I called all my friends and family and told them where to shop.When i finally recieved my order <IT ONLY TOOK TWO DAY> I was very pleased they offered a 100% satisfaction on the correct order.from the computer to the door was only two days> come on you gotta try AMAZON MARKETPLACE.I did.

Good concept ruined by corporate greed.

Amazon Marketplace USED to be a great place to buy and sell third party items. You could usually get a much better price than the auction sites and it was nearly hassle-free. However, it looks like their "big" sellers of electronics are squealing too much, so Amazon has forbidden sales of electronics by anyone except "pre-approved" sellers, i.e., the big guys like J&R. Obviously, they think competition isn't good for their bottom line, so they're cutting us out. Too bad, nobody's going to buy overpriced stuff, so they'll lose in the long run.
