The filter does make the water taste better, and I believe it is healthier water than tap water. However, we have had many problems with the filter in the 2 years that we have owned it. As others have stated, we also had a problem with the filter case breaking. We had to send it back for replacement twice. We just had the third one crack and leak water all over the place. There have been other problems that my husband has managed to fix on his own. It just isn't worth the hassle. We are now on a search for a new filter.

We loved the taste of the water. We had signed up for "Water for Life" and found it very convenient. However, when we mounted it under our sink we had two filter cases break in two different places over the past year. Since the filter leaking is not immediately apparent when it is mounted under the sink it can be a while before it is discovered. Our concern that water damage could be significant before discovery caused us to change to a different filter.

I purchased an AQ-4000 from AquasanaUSA and i got it very quickly, and the system was easy to install. I love the filter and the customer service.

I was pleased with the service and love the product. I have been drinking great water from Aquasana now for 2 years and would not drink anythink else. I sneak my decanter of Aquasana everywhere I go because you can not find better water anywhere. Servers at restaurants look at me funny when I ask for a empty water cup and fill it up with Aquasana instead.

We loved the counter top model for the first year but when we replaced the filters for the second time, the thing started to leak like crazy so we called and they sent us a new casing. But we couldn't get both filters out of the old one because it had seized up so badly we couldn't remove the cap. We spent two weeks buying bottled water and talking to folks on the phone who told us to hack at it with various tools and only after an enormous amount of hassle they're sending us new filters. Evidently the "vegetable oil" method of sealing the reservoirs causes them to freeze and we noticed the new unit came with a lubricant. But they were painfully slow to take care of the problem and we're looking around for an alternative. Too bad, the water itself was great.
