Good online ordering -- poor poor selection of UPS shipping

First time ordering online with BestBuy. Only shop during sales since this is the only time prices are competitive with online merchants. Great prices on Black Friday software that was sold out in store but bought online with no problem. Problem is they use UPS pony express delivery -- some sort of mail innovations thing where your package gets set aside for 3 days while UPS gets enough packages to presort and turn over to US Postal for a discount. One week and package is somewhere in Maryland. Should not take weeks to get from Indiana to Virginia. Shipping charges are per item and $9 shipping for 1.4 lbs. I guess UPS mail innovations means they have found an innovated way to get more of your money.

Try not to buy anything from BestBuy which carries a rebate. Customer Service stinks.

I bought a HP desktop system carrying $250 rebate as a Friday-Saturday special last Thanksgiving weekend. The package was delivered on time. The online linked rebate form was incorrect (it asked for a printer UPC whereas the system did not include one). The Rebate Center and Customer Care could not locate the correct form either and gave me the runaround till I got sick and tired of them and decided to return the system.

Stove installed by them almost started a fire

I bought a Frigidaire stove from the Saugus, MA Best Buy retail store. When it was delivered, the two delivery men seemed a bit inexperienced. Sure enough, when they were gone I found that the stove wasn't supported properly (it rocked back and forth). Fine: I pulled it out and built a small platform for it.

Now, two years later, I was cooking using the broiler and two burners, when the broiler stopped working. While trying to figure that out, the stove lost all power. Fuse fine, power being supplied to outlet. I pulled the back, and wow! one of the 240VAC supply wires had melted where it attached to the stove terminal block. And the other two wires? Well, the nuts were loose. Nobody's touched them since the installation, so they've been loose from day one; I'm surprised it took this long to fail. I'm also lucky that the broken supply wire fell onto a piece of plastic; there would have been some welding done if it had fell 1/2" further.

I'd consider buying a boxed product from Best Buy again, but I'll never use their installation service again.

I am still waiting for my refund on shipping since they sent the wrong item to me. I returned the item to the store and was refunded for the item but not the shipping. I have been dealing with the customer service for the online department. So far I have had at least 5 different case numbers and called about a dozen times. Each time (except the times I was hung up on), I was promised I would receive a call back or email. I have not been contacted at all and still don't have the refund.

No returns on defective products!

My experience with Best Buy has been the worst. They had they gal to tell me that the only way they would offer me any customer service was if I purchased a two year extension warranty on the phone I purchased. In other words, you have to purchase a secondary warranty from Best Buy in order to gain access to your right to return a defective product. What a joke. Buyer beware!

PAID DOUBLE PRICE For an ITEM BECAUSE OF A NON HONORED REBATE

Terrible experience. I bought an item with a substantial rebate and despite numerous complaints with Best Buy they never honored it. Of course, I got the usual excuses that it was not their responsibility; it was the manufacturer's. Only problem is that it was Best Buy that advertised the price with the rebate and I bought the item solely because of the fictitious rebate. I ended up paying almost double for the item,and I now know I will never receive the promised rebate. (It has been more than one year.) So what is a customer to do? Go into a local store and shoplift to make up for the loss? JUST DON'T BUY from BEST BUY. It Is NOT WORTH YOUR TIME NOR AGGRAVATION: LIFE IS TOO SHORT.

Also, please note that this is not an isolated experience; I have spoken to numerous people who have never received their rebate on other items. I guess Best Buy found a way of stealing without getting caught. Sort of like shoplifting in reverse. Don't be a victim of these thieves, DO NOT SHOP at Best Buy.

I am happy with my .com buying experience. I picked up the Wireless Router and Laptop Card AT THE STORE 45 minutes after placing my dot com order. My order was complete and everything was ready to go at the pickup counter.

I just purchased some SONY SA-VE445H Home Theater Speakers and the price was at least fifty dollars less than ANY other store I could find. They were in stock, and I received them in just two days. The ultra fast and free shipping coupled with good email updates makes Best Buy a GREAT place to shop.

Worst on-line shopping experience ever!

I bought a music CD. When they emailed me the shipping tracking information, I found out they ship it to Illinois, instead of Florida where I live. I called the customer service to correct the wrong address, but all they say is "please wait 1 to 4 business days". After waiting 4 business days, I reported I hadn't received the delivery yet. They said I had to wait 21 business days to request a refund or re-shipment. After waiting more than 1 month after the order, they told me because "I returned it", and now the price has changed to 3 times more than the price I ordered. I pointed out their mis-delivery to IL and I never received it. They called me a liar that I purposely submitted the wrong address when I ordered!

Absolutley horrible customer service, I was not allowed to cancel my order, after my order was late, on top of that, I recieved my order(Ipod) 2 weeks late!!! The customer service rep hung up on me during a telephone conversation, because they were not able to answer my questions. I will never shop here again.

Couple months ago I bought a DVD player from Best Buy On-line store. I was very disappointed that it arrived a week after it was supposed to. Though the selection is much better on-line than in any best buy store, it's better to go to an actual store. You'll get a better customer service at best buy store, but not on-line.

Ordered on line a TV, and a free item which was offered with the purchase. Received the free item in a few days via UPS, and waited for the phone call the day before to confirm the special delivery of the TV. Never got the phone call and the selected delivery date came and went.

Checked the status of my order and the TV was cancelled (something about not being able to verify info, yeah right) and was informed that I would now be charged the full price for the free item (something I would have never purchased at full retail price anyway).

Contacted Best Buy customer service via the Internet and by phone and was totally dissatisfied with the experience. They can not handle even simple matters that a child could solve. Will never purchase anything again on line from Best Buy (should call it WORST BUY).

The worst ever on line experience

I placed my order on the 18th of March. It is now the 30th of March and still no item. Their customer support was rude and for most of the weekend their customer account pages were down or slowwww. Making a 9600 modem seem fast. Why do I have Broadband when their site cannot handle their traffic......
Shop anyone else first! Use only as a last resort! Sells Hi Tech but they live in a low tech world!

It was annoying to have to fill out a survey to complete my order. If I don't want to fill it out, I shouldn't have to. It wasted my time. Next time make it optional, preferably with some sort of benefit to me for filling it out.

I liked the way the web site made a suggestion when I selected a DVD, it suggested the soundtrack. I didn't know there was one for this movie so I bought it too. Good strategy on Best Buys part and it worked because I bought both the DVD and the CD. Keep up the good work!
