Never got to place my order: not customer friendly.

I tried to order 2 DVDs worth about $60 from the Best Buy Online Store and got as far as the name, address, etc, and they required me to give my phone number in order to complete the transaction.
Having signed up for the National Do Not call list, I checked the Best Buy privacy policy. In a nutshell, there is nothing private.

I purchased the items from Barnes & Noble ( few dollars more) fast, and no phone number needed.

I wrote to the Best Buy Customer service department, and told them that even Radio Shack has finally stopped asking your number when you buy a 9 volt battery. The webpage refused to send my message. Guess why? So I filled the field with 999-999-9999, and it worked.

Sorry Best Buy, I lost no money with you but you're not customer oriented.

After purchasing a Canon digital video camera I sent in the special offer for a free 64 MB Memory Card. I sent all originals as stated on the offer. My receipt, my UPC from the box, and the BB coupon. I received a post card stating that I couldn't claim my memory card as it had already been claimed for my UPC number. I cut it off the box myself so it is not possible for anyone else to have sent it in. Best Buy customer service wouldn't help me, Canon wouldn't help me. Don't believe the offers that are supposed to come by mail either. I have submitted for rebates that never arrived either. Heaven forbid you should have to wait in the customer service line, it can take hours and when you get to talk to someone they will do their best to prove that you are not entitled to anything!

DO NOT SHOP HERE! This place sucks. I bought a hand vac and after 45 days is stopped working properly. Best Buy offered to haved it SERVICED at more cost than it was worth. They wouldn't replace the 30$ vacuum! Later I bought a washing machine and after 32 days- they refused to replace it because it was over the 30 days- even though it was eating clothes. Costco and Home Depot help their consumers.

Bought an LCD projector through a sales associate who took the product out of the box and showed me what came with it. I purchased the item ($800+). I never used the product but when I went to return it 5 days later I was told about a restocking fee since the box was opened. I argued that I walked out of the store with the box opened and never used it but, the SOB store manager wouldn't budge. I walked out of the store less $112 but perhaps money well spent since I will never shop there again, ever.

bestbuy.com store pick up is unreliable

Don't expect your product to be available for pick up at a store when you order from bestbuy.com. I ordered a computer to pick up at a particular store. When I went to pick it up during my lunch break, I was told the computer was not there. I got sent to another store 45 minutes away. Went to other store and found out that my internet order was invalid even though the computer was there. "The system" would need 45 minutes to make the transfer. So much for my lunch break and using the internet to keep from "running around". I'll take my business elsewhere.

I recently brought my HP computer into Best Buy for service under the Best Buy maintenance agreement that I purchased when I bought the computer. It was 9 weeks ago that I brought in the computer. Since then I have heard every excuse in the book as to why it isn't fixed yet. They are big on blaming the vendor for the delays. They don't bother to call to update you on the progress, or lack of progress. Everyone is very polite but full of excuses. Based on this experience I will not be purchasing anything from Best Buy again.

Very bad installation

I had purchased a Washing Machine and dryer at BestBuy. Delivery - On time
Installation - Very Bad, Unprofessional. They just placed the washer, dryer where need to be, connected hoses and left. After they had gone I checked the manual and found that there are particular sequence of installation which was not at all followed. They didn't bother to do the basic step of leveling the machine leave rest of the things. I am still struggling to get my machine set right.

So guys, make sure that the installers are doing it right. I don't think installation and delivery crew has any training provided by the store.

My experience at WORST BUY:

Worst experience ever. I rated them with 1 star because there is no option for 0 stars. On the Black Friday sale I placed the order for the Samsung DVD/VCR combo. It was meant to be my daughter’s birthday gift. I have a confirmation e-mail that item is in stock and will be shipped soon. A couple of days later I received another e-mail saying that item is on backorder and I will get it in 1 to 3 weeks. Not good but what can I do. Finally, I received the e-mail that my order was canceled. That’s it – just cancelled. Other reputable stores would replace me this item with another one. Customer service is useless – they don’t want to listen to you, they do not transfer you to a supervisor.

They are covering behind the disclaimer on their web site. Anyway, I’m going to submit my complaint to the FTC. And I recommend you to do the same. We must put this store out of business. Stay away from Best Buy.

Placed an order online for piece of office furniture. They completed order and gave me a delivery date for 3 weeks from time of order. Received email 3 days before scheduled delivery date saying item discontinued. Phone number that they gave in email for "customer service" was a joke. Lengthy, LENGTHY automated options without one having to do with customer service. Best Buy does not know the meaning of "customer service" (just look at the length of the "returns" line when you are in one of their stores).

The worst service I have ever had!!!

I bought a television at best buy in February, it broke in March and it is now mid June and the service dept. at best buy is still giving me a hard time trying to get the television replaced. (it cant be repaired). BTW the tv is a Sansui and they are saying the replacement is best buy's problem. None the less, I still have a broken, brand new tv!

Customer service STINKS!  After a month of "run around" customer service, I finally was told that Best Buy no longer had the windows disc to reload on a Insignia computer (Best Buy brand).  They could not provide a disc to reload the software (it was preloaded and did not come with a back up disc).

I had a minimum of 5 phone calls and/or transfers that required 10 minute wait time.

They saw us coming. My wife and I are seniors. The BEST BUY team is well trained to lie, I'm sorry to say. We bought a HDTV. They promised no interest for 18 months which in Best Buy language means 14% interest. They took advantage of us old folks. Shame on Best Buy. Plus they signed us up for an insurance policy without our knowledge. My advice is if you must buy at Best Buy, PAY CASH. Otherwise they'll eat you alive.

Went in the buy a laptop. Bought one got it home. It start to malfunction. We took it back saying something wropng with it. Tech says: Nothing wrong. We say yes there is owning and operating a computer longer then the tech has been alive. Best Buy says tuff your computer. We say no dont want it it is broke. After a hour arguing. BEST BUY SAYS:15% of returned funds to restock a broke computer that they will resell at full price again.

Bottomline: "$240 EDUCATIONAL LESSON NEVER TO SHOP AT BEST BUY AGAIN"!!!

Beware of Best Buy Rebates

Purchased my high speed Cox service from Best Buy since they were offering a $80.00 rebate back on the Linksys modem that I purchased along with a $75.00 gift certificate for signing up for the service. I was working in Wisconsin at the time and I was sent a confirmation email for the service. Well it came in as spam and my spam trashed it after 5 days. I took all my paper work back to the store I purchased it and asked for the sales confirmation from their computer system. They tried to pull my information out of the system, but if you don't know how the first name, card number used, last name, and zip code was entered, you will never pull it out of the system. Has to match exactly!!!! The store's position is, we tried and can't help you. I lost the $155.00 in rebates.

Ignoring all the bad reviews online, I decided to buy a laptop from Best Buy. As I was filling out shipping and credit card information to purchase it, the price was increased by $150. Fortunately I noticed the higher price on the final screen and cancelled the order. Several email exchanges with customer service confirmed that there is no customer service, so I feel fortunate that I won't have to deal with them AFTER having made a major purchase. I can't believe a company does business with such a bad attitude toward customers.

On-line shopping at Best Buy was convenient and quick. Best buy had the same microwave that was featured in Consumer Reports recently, so it was easy to select the right microwave for my family.
