Bought Nikon coolPix 4300 on line 07/16/04. Camera was represented to be in stock. Camera is still represented to be in stock on Butterfly's web page.
In fact it is not in stock and repeated calls can not ascertain when it will be in stock...purportedly in stock "in a couple of days".
Also.... a big negative.. Butterfly ran the charge through on the card immediately.. not as commonly done when the product ships...
So now I have to watch for the credit... If I don't call VISA to get the charge stopped..( which I think I might do anyway..)
Piss poor.....serves me right trying to save 50 bucks..

Very good experience overall. I made total of 3 or 4 calls through out the ordering process since I placed the order on July 4th and I needed the order to be processed and shipped for the very next weekend. The New Yorker's manner is a turn off when you try to explain to the the changes on the shipping method (for some reason it process the ground service even as I select the overnight shipment in the first place). Nevertheless the quality of the product is good and the price is right. I would buy from them again for the next purchase.

initially tried to place the order over the phone, but had to wait for someone for 20 minutes. when the guy finally picked up my call, he placed me on hold and then dropped my call. This happened 3 times. I instead placed the order online, which is much less painless.

They delayed my shipment for 72 hours because they wanted to up sell me on accessories. After cancelling my order with them because of the delay, they sent it anyways despite telling me it was cancelled.

Delivery was very fast and efficient. The sales phone call to determine the need for accessories was a little annoying, but could imagine some people likimg to receive it. Have not opened the carton yet. This is a replacement for a camera that was lost. So, I expect to be satisfied.

I received a phone call to ensure that my order was correct before it was shipped and was also asked to verify my credit card information. I like the fact that the extra step was taken to safeguard my private information. I have no qualms whatsoever about shopping again at Butterfly Photo.
