I order a canon digital camera SD1000. The next day they called me to confirm my order, but they started to sell me all sort of gadgets. Foolishly I still ordered a memory card and a battery, my order was more than $300 nevertheless, the math did not add up, since the price advertised on the web was $142 for the camera.
Do not buy anything from CAMERA ADDICT they never return your phone calls or e-mails, they put you on hold until you finally get tired of waiting. By the way, I am still waiting for the camera!!!
These people are THIEVES they charged me for a gps update that they did not do.Then they tell me it was updated with late 08 maps BULL,garmin emailed me no such update.Emailed them warned them would stop payment and contact any agency that will listen.They agreed to refund my money will see.GONNA SCREW THEM ANYWAY STARTING HERE.Do not buy from these people,and if you have and got burned REPORT them stop payment whaT ever but dont let it slide.Hopefully some watchdog agency will investigate them.

I had an unpleasant experience dealing with a salesman from Camera Addict when ordering a 52 inch LCD and a 50 inch plasma TV. Stands which are supposed to be part of the accessories in the box are not included and add a significant price to the TV ($299) in addition to shipping. He tried to sell me on very expensive HDMI cables. My confidence wavered and I cancelled my order. I would rather spend more than deal with this company.
The ordering process was easy for a Canon A650 IS. Then came the email saying: "For verification purposes, please call our customer service department at 1-800-927-2354 Extension 262, in order for us to proceed and process your order."
When I called, I was told the camera I ordered was the Japanese version with Japanese text, and I would need the U.S. version. I was told the batteries were bad, and I should upgrade the battery. The person tried to sell me SD memory chip, battery charger, etc. The price for the basic camera jumped from $254 to $309, and I just said, "Cancel the order."
Even though the part number shown for the camera is the exact same number that Canon USA shows on its website, the telephone person will tell you it is a "Japanese version" and try to scare you into paying more for the exact same item. This is the most reprehensible, fraudulent operation I've run across in some time.
The product was ordered yesterday so I have not rec'd it yet. There was a problem with their online catalog so I had to contact them to correct the order. The person who helped me was very knowlegeable, helpful and knew of/understood the problem. I also had to contact their billing becuase the price charged to the credit card doubled the shipping charge. I also had to talk with billing and notify my creit card company about an alternate shipping address - our winter home. While I appreciate the concern for security, I have purchased many expensive items without having my order held up becuase we were at our winter address. Everyone that I have dealt with at Camera Addict was knowledgeable, helpful and easy to understand, which in spite of the inconvenience associated with the need to contact due to the aforementioned situations, made the transaction a positive experience. Hopefully, the lens will be shipped today without further delay, will arrive in excellent condition and my account will be credited for the overcharge. Check in again in a week if you are interested in those results. I recommend that you modify your survey to handle the situation where a product has not been rec'd or wait to send out the survey to allow a reasonable time for porduct delivery. Read more

Do not buy from this merchant. Like everyone said, they are a bait and switch merchant. They advertise one thing, and then switch it and try to make you pay more for the one you want in addition to scamming you to buy more things. I would recommend sticking with a business you know has good customer service, and is reliable. These people are scum, who would do anything to make a penny. Such pitty that we have these people on this earth. Read more
