Better than expected

I was hesitant to order from this company because the website seems like they specialize is cheap, poorly made merchandise. But after declining several pages of "special offers", my order was processed quickly, arrived promptly and in good condition, and seems to work great. Note that although they advertise free shipping, they add on a processing fee, so the total price is a few bucks more than expected.

1. They have a prominent order tracking tab-- good to see-- but when I checked it on Monday four days after I place my order it said the order was on hold--three days and three calls to cutomer service finally got a bright person who actually looked up the order and found that it had been shipped and gave me a real tracking number-- so don't trust the website they don't update it. 2. I prefer to give my cc number to a real person on the phone instead of using a website interface (Heartlands is a little shacky) as the sales rep totalled my order the amount was different -- shipping was higher than stated on the website-- after several cool responses from the rep I ordered it online-- they would not honor the stated shipping cost on the phone. Overall not impressed with their service.

Terrible customer service

The website does not state when items are rufurbished therefore, they are creating the illusion that they are selling new items at an extremely low price.
When I called to question the item, the first person hung up on me and the second person was extremely rude and treated me as if I was a burden. They will never get my money!!!

Avoid. Placed order on 6/11/06. Merchandise received was not as advertised on 6/11/06. Company will not reply to e-mail or fax.

Called customer service for clarification on 'free shipping' note on web page for product. Customer service confirmed that checkout page indicated nearly $20 shipping charge. I said that seems misleading. I was told by him that I was being extreme! I patiently asked to speak with a supervisor. Was put into a queue and hung up after waiting 20 minutes. I will not shop here in future.

Deceptive advertising

I tried placing an order for a telescope (at a good price I might add). Although the page said free shipping, I was assessed shipping and a $2.95 "order processing fee". I spoke to an agent who said EVERYONE pays it. Not me!!!!!

Inaccurate display of items available. Failed to disclosed or get back to customer. Upon inquiry, it was disclosed that not in stock for a while, yet will not comply with free shipping on a more expensive order. Spoke with sales person and manager, and neither were helpful.

Positive resolution of shipping charge issue

When comparison shopping on line, Heartland had the product I wanted at a good price and with free shipping. But when I tried to order, the order form consistently showed a $10.95 shipping charge. I called the 800 number, got a very articulate and pleasant representative and the matter was resolved instantly. She took the order and waived the shipping charge. I have ordered from Heartland in the past and have been pleased, even when something went wrong.

Everything I ordered was made in China and not made in the "Heartland America". All junk. Nothing was a good value. My 1250 watt power inverter would not even power 850 Watts. I got around to test it a few days after the return date so they refused to take it back. I am out $80.99 plus shipping. I will never order from them again.

The so-called rebate is only in form of credit on future purchases. If I had known that I wouldn't have bought it.
The phone doesn't work and interfers with my computer. The answering machine portion doesn't function but produces an irritating buzz.
I am so unhappy with this purchase I will place a review in the site and will never purchase from this company again.
I am not even bothering to return it as I am sure they won't refund the money but again only offer store credit - which I would find a waste of time.
The order was received on time but I had no way of tracking it as I got no confirmation of the order via email or any other method. I waited for the 3-4 day service I paid for and received it on time.
Very poor quality - and don't use this vendor again if you are wise.

They never sent me a shipping email as promised and if you checked the order status on their website it just said "in process." I did receive the club on time but I did have to

RE: The Wireless Headphones. No rechargable batteries were included as they should have been according to the advertisment. I contacted Heartland about this on-line and never got a response. I bought my own set of rechargable batteries.

The item I purchased was in-stock, shipped on time and in good condition. Item was accurately depicted and as described. I encountered a problem, however, at check-out when trying to use a valid Heartland America (H.A.)coupon. There was no place at check-out to enter the coupon's number. I called customer service and the rep. verified there was no place at check-out to enter the coupon number. The rep. instructed me to email H.A. a description of the problem. Within 24 hrs. or less, I had an email order confirmation that included the coupon's value and the correct amount. The rep. was very helpful and resolved my issue with one phone call and one email from me. I would not hesitate to continue as a patron of H.A.
