I have just had a bad experience with hotelclub.com. I am a world traveler and have used online tools or sometimes I just go straight to the hotel's website or call them, etc... This time I wanted to book a hotel in Mexico City and I used hotelclub.com. ...
Easy to navigate website. Easy to credit your money. Slow to refund it! Plus, they short change you on the booking cancellation fee. They charged me in Euros instead of US dollars per their booking conditions - it would be based on what type of currency ...
I always say you can tell a good company by how they react in a dispute. These guys are bastards. Don't trust them. I booked a hotel in Russia and they charged my credit card. When I arrived in Russia there was no room booked as their agent had not paid ...
have book the hotel reservation through Rates to go/hotel club website. They charged deposit money as soon as booked in internet. I have called hotel to check my reservation, they said it is only one room booked . I have booked for one room. Then i ...
Imagine booking a romantic 40th birthday trip with your partner and then finding that your hotel room was furnished with BUNKBEDS!!! Until recently I had used HotelClub often with only a few problems (not cancelling rooms when I had cancelled etc). ...
Stay away from HotelClub!!! I tried repeatedly to book rooms through the Hotel Club site, and each time, after I entered my credit card information, they informed me the rooms I wanted had been sold, and I needed to try again. The next ...
I love to travel. I mean, really love to travel. But I don't love paying high prices for travel. So naturally, whenever I hear about a new web site that claims to offer ways to save money on anything having to do with travel, I click my way over ...
The summary says it all really, but if you don't mind a useless and tiny range of hotels from cities in Europe where any other search engine will give you masses to choose from...and most importantly you don't mind the high risk of getting your confirmed ...
I used Hotel Club to book a hotel in Trujillo for a Spanish trip May 2008. I paid, received a written confirmation no problem. I turned up at Trujillo, and couldn't find the hotel, so went to the tourist information. They informed me that the hotel ...
I have always loved travel. I look forward to long vacations and even short getaways and I am especially fond of finding new places to visit for the first time. The internet has been very helpful in finding travel deals on lodging, airfare, car ...
The main reason I wrote this review was because I couldn't find any personal reviews when I decided to book from hoteclub. All I found were small magazine and newspaper reviews and of course, lots of reviews from Hotelclubs own site. I hope this helps ...
I think that Hotel club is a magnificent way to save money on hotel bookings, not just saving money but the customer service they provide is really good as well. Earning member dollars is a bonus and it is so simple to book. The only thing i would ...
I booked a hotel in Thailand through them 6 weeks in advance for the peak season (my credit card was charged on the day of booking). I called the hotel directly some days before arrival, and they said they had not received any reservation from hotelclub.net, and had had troubles with hotelclub before.
After calling hotelclub.net and insisting that they look into this, the hotel could luckily manage to get a room for me. When I checked out, the hotel manager told me he had not received the payment from hotelclub.net yet (which is in principle not my problem, but it highlights their bad business practice, which can land guests in trouble if the hotel refuses to accommodate them due to outstanding payments).

Booked a room for 4 days in Sri Lanka and the hotel had not heard of me. Took me a week of arguing with hotelclub who insisted they had made the booking only to confess 24 hours before I was due to fly that no room booking had been made. Stay away!
Failed to practise due diligence and customer service - wrongly double charged by lsm2008 ,Apr 29 '08
Last week I stayed at Hotel George V in Brussels after booking through Rates2Go. I checked in exactly as planned, gave them the voucher and paid the balance with my card at the desk. On returning home, had an email from HOTELCLUB saying the hotel had claimed I was a "no show" and therefore they were charging full amount - again - to my card. They didn't check with me first - I have the charge slip showing exact time of charge, plus I even have photos of me in the room. Called hotel and they are not helping - she tells me to call some other number in Brussels and says it's nothing to do with the hotel. Luckily I paid with Visa so I'll get my money back in the end. HotelClub failed totally to perform due diligence - they apparently took an erroneous no-show claim and didn't even bother to verify with the customer first. They have so far failed to respond to my emails - it is now 5 days since they wrongly posted the double charge, and not a peep from them.
