The main reason I wrote this review was because I couldn't find any personal reviews when I decided to book from hoteclub. All I found were small magazine and newspaper reviews and of course, lots of reviews from Hotelclubs own site. I hope this helps ...
I think that Hotel club is a magnificent way to save money on hotel bookings, not just saving money but the customer service they provide is really good as well. Earning member dollars is a bonus and it is so simple to book. The only thing i would ...
I love to travel. I mean, really love to travel. But I don't love paying high prices for travel. So naturally, whenever I hear about a new web site that claims to offer ways to save money on anything having to do with travel, I click my way over ...
The summary says it all really, but if you don't mind a useless and tiny range of hotels from cities in Europe where any other search engine will give you masses to choose from...and most importantly you don't mind the high risk of getting your confirmed ...
I used Hotel Club to book a hotel in Trujillo for a Spanish trip May 2008. I paid, received a written confirmation no problem. I turned up at Trujillo, and couldn't find the hotel, so went to the tourist information. They informed me that the hotel ...

Stay away from HotelClub!!! I tried repeatedly to book rooms through the Hotel Club site, and each time, after I entered my credit card information, they informed me the rooms I wanted had been sold, and I needed to try again. The next ...
Imagine booking a romantic 40th birthday trip with your partner and then finding that your hotel room was furnished with BUNKBEDS!!! Until recently I had used HotelClub often with only a few problems (not cancelling rooms when I had cancelled etc). ...
I always say you can tell a good company by how they react in a dispute. These guys are bastards. Don't trust them. I booked a hotel in Russia and they charged my credit card. When I arrived in Russia there was no room booked as their agent had not paid ...
I have just had a bad experience with hotelclub.com. I am a world traveler and have used online tools or sometimes I just go straight to the hotel's website or call them, etc... This time I wanted to book a hotel in Mexico City and I used hotelclub.com. ...

Easy to navigate website. Easy to credit your money. Slow to refund it! Plus, they short change you on the booking cancellation fee. They charged me in Euros instead of US dollars per their booking conditions - it would be based on what type of currency ...
I booked a hotel in Thailand through them 6 weeks in advance for the peak season (my credit card was charged on the day of booking). I called the hotel directly some days before arrival, and they said they had not received any reservation from hotelclub.net, and had had troubles with hotelclub before.
After calling hotelclub.net and insisting that they look into this, the hotel could luckily manage to get a room for me. When I checked out, the hotel manager told me he had not received the payment from hotelclub.net yet (which is in principle not my problem, but it highlights their bad business practice, which can land guests in trouble if the hotel refuses to accommodate them due to outstanding payments).
Failed to practise due diligence and customer service - wrongly double charged by lsm2008 ,Apr 29 '08
Last week I stayed at Hotel George V in Brussels after booking through Rates2Go. I checked in exactly as planned, gave them the voucher and paid the balance with my card at the desk. On returning home, had an email from HOTELCLUB saying the hotel had claimed I was a "no show" and therefore they were charging full amount - again - to my card. They didn't check with me first - I have the charge slip showing exact time of charge, plus I even have photos of me in the room. Called hotel and they are not helping - she tells me to call some other number in Brussels and says it's nothing to do with the hotel. Luckily I paid with Visa so I'll get my money back in the end. HotelClub failed totally to perform due diligence - they apparently took an erroneous no-show claim and didn't even bother to verify with the customer first. They have so far failed to respond to my emails - it is now 5 days since they wrongly posted the double charge, and not a peep from them.
Never ever use this company. I cancelled a booking i had made a few days before i was due to arrive at the hotel and got an e mail from hotelclub saying i would get my refund minus any charge the hotel made. When i got home from holidays i contacted hotelclub about the refund and they told me that the hotel in question had charged a full nights accommodation. I contacted the hotel direct and they told me that they hadn't charged them anything for the cancellation. I contacted hotelclub again to be told that there are no refunds up to 9 days before arrival. Ive given up hope of my refund... Robbing lying crooks
I turned up to my hotel booking in Galway, Ireland on a bank holiday weekend to be told the hotel no longer offer rooms through Hotelclub there was no spare rooms in the whole city so we had to travel to family 100 miles away then back in the morning for our flights.
I have been waiting 2 weeks for an answer on my money back/compensation but have had nothing while my £80 is sat gaining interest with them
Do not buy from Hotelclub.com
Their communication was horrendous, they charged our bank account without consent and when they knew they made a mistake would not refund our money, but told us to write a formal complaint in order to get a refund.
Customer service was the worst I have ever received and feel totally ripped off.
Take my advice and think twice before you use HotelClub!
We used Hotelclub on several occasions without any problems. However, our last booking was for a hotel in Valencia, which according to the Hotelclub website included breakfast. At checkout, we discovered this was not the case and as the voucher which we had received from Hotelclub (after booking) did not state that breakfast was included, we had to pay the hotel. On returning from our trip, we complained to Hotelclub who took the attitude that as it was not stated on the voucher, they were not liable and that any innacuracies on the website were the hotel's responsibility. Therefore, it appears that if you make a booking with this company on the basis of what is advertised on the website, you may not always receive what you expect.
Awful service and even worse customer service by thesquad ,Jul 30 '08
Awful - turned up at the hotel with two tired young children having paid weeks in advance (luckily on my credit card) only to be told they had no record of my booking and had never heard of hotelclub.
The number on my receipt did not work and eventually got through to someone in their sales team who told me if I e-mailed in they would refund all my money. I duly did this and have not had the courtesy of a response.
Even if I get a refund this is not the point - luckily the hotel had one spare room which four of us squashed into. The customer service has been awful and I would advise everyone to stay well away from this company.
Scammed out of my money! by roginsaudi ,Aug 31 '08
I have just escaped from the nightmare of a fake booking through hotel club. They "confirm" the reservation and debit the card immediately. Upon contacting the hotel, they have no knowledge of hotel club, no booking and no notification of a booking. When this is presented to hotel club, they respond saying they will confirm the booking immediately, but do not.
In desperation the user then books directly with the hotel, cancels the hotel club entry and pays a cancellation fee to hotel club (for a booking which was never made in the first place).
Avoid this mob like the plague. I think the other comment was definately written by someone who works for them. They are very untrustworthy, unhelpful, will take your money with no refund possible and do not have any confirmed hotel bookings.
Absolute rip off. I cancelled the booking less than 2 hours after making it, with 2 days notice due to a family emergency and still got charged one nights accommodation + booking fee. Do not recommend these people at all. Be very careful.
I would not recommend using this service. I booked a room through Hotelclub and chose the option to not be offered an alternative hotel. When I arrived I was told that the hotel did not have any rooms available despite having a so called confirmation voucher from Hotelclub. I was redirected to another hotel which did not have adequate parking for the trailer I was towing and was forced to refuse the reservation. I was left with no place to stay after driving over 500 miles one way. I attempted to contact Hotelclub's customer service, but no answer. I've sent six emails and placed two phone calls and have yet to get a response.
Dire..use at your own risk by travellerza ,Dec 22 '09
Booked a room for 4 days in Sri Lanka and the hotel had not heard of me. Took me a week of arguing with hotelclub who insisted they had made the booking only to confess 24 hours before I was due to fly that no room booking had been made. Stay away!
it is misleading not to say a cheat on the part of hotelclub to affirm that they can give you instant confirmation.that is not the case .i experienced it.
