I cannot really comment on the process of ordering through the IBM store online. However I can comment on the severe unpleasantness I have encountered in dealing with IBM on an "after the sale" issue. First, the IBM support site is filled with 3 and 4 ...
They were knowledgeable about the product; computer was received earlier than expected. Shipping was free. My only complaint was that after receiving the order when I wanted to make a change, I called and left a voice mail message for my sales person and...
Purchasing direct from IBM is the way to go. I’ve purchased several items from them with a great experience each time. I received conformation e-mail advising me of the status of my order. There are other benefits associated with purchasing direct;...
IBM laptops are the best laptops around. i suggest you make a friend at IBM... by chipmiester ,Apr 08 '04
IBM laptops are of amazing quality. i dont know why you guys think IBM is a bad company to buy from. they have the best laptops around. there sturdy, loaded with amazing features, and they all have a great keyboard. i personally dont think you should order direct (online or by phone). you should make a friend from IBM and then ask them for epp exclusive(employee pricing program exclusive) deals. i got an IBM thinkpad t40 the otherday for only 1608.85 canadian! its cheap, and overall, worth over 2k when ordered direct. so, make a friend and do what i did. your friend can also help you with problems alot better than customer support. thanks IBM for making wicked laptops!
Waste of time - unreasonable long delays. by asarian ,Mar 17 '04
It took forever for IBM to figure out that the notebook I ordered is not in stock and it takes 2-4 weeks for them to assemble it. When asked for a similar model in stock - the answer was that ALL computers take 2-4 weeks to assemble before they can be shipped out. Waste of time. Besides, they also charge a sales tax. Others don't.
