Purchased spill proof urinal. It did not work as advertised. I requested a refund and was told no way. When I mentioned that I was going to dispute the charge on my Amazon credit card rep (Surina Maroky) threatened to turn the matter into their fraud department. I called them and finally got a rep that understood the situation. He emailed me 3/19/09 told me he was able to secure a refund and that the credit should show in "a few days". As of 4/09/09 no refund was issued, despite my email to the rep (Aaron Serbu) a week or so prior to 4/9. Their approach to customer service seems to be one of denial, intimidation, delay, and general customer contempt.
Update - on 4/9 I emailed this review to the CEO of the company. Within an hour I received a notice from Amazon that my refund had been processed. I also received an email from the CEO advising me that the problem was not Active Forever, but that Amazon lagged in processing the refund. While I cannot verify that, I am impressed by the speed of response of top management. I will post again when / if the credit appears..

WORSE experience with a company I've ever had. I ordered a product for my elderly mother for Christmas. They sent me the wrong item, and I had to go hunt down another gift for my Mom at the last minute. It is now FEBRUARY, and over a month later, and I still have never received a refund, even after shipping the item back to them with PROOF of delivery. I finally had no other choice but to ask my credit card company to intervene on my behalf in this matter. I had even contacted the CEO of this company, Active Forever, and even though she assured me numerous times that the issue would be "taken care of", it never was. I will never shop with these people again! Buyer beware!

I ordered an item 2nd day air, and after 10 days still no product. I had to call to see what was going on with the order twice. I ended up cancelling the order. I will never use this company again.

Was a little concerned after reading some negative posts, but placed an order anyway. The service I received was outstanding! The online chat, responses to email questions, billing/shipping information couldn't have been better! I can't imagine what these other negative reviewers are talking about. However, activeforever.com does sell a lot of products that are medical/hygenic, which makes them NON-RETURNABLE. But they clearly state which products cannot be returned. Perhaps that is what these people are really complaining about? Personally, I feel good knowing that I won't get something like a used catheter!!! I consider myself a picky shopper and activeforever totally amazed me. Have already sent their link to my friends and family with complete confidence.

Stellar service and friendly staff. I have never been happier with an online company. This is my 6th time buying from them (I bought a Thermotex heating pad for myself and my grandmother) and every experience has been great. On one occasion there was a problem with UPS delivery, but the rep I spoke to took care of it immediately. I definitely recommend this company to everyone I know. My family and friends have also bought here with no problems too. Keep up the good work ActiveForever!

I ordered the All In One Shower Commode Companion Wheelchair and my wife is very satisfied with the product. I purchased it at 1 p.m. ET and received it within 5 days of ordering it; they had told me it would have been shipped within 7 days, so I really enjoyed the surprise! I'll keep doing business with ActiveForever because there's no other place out there that has as large of a selection of medical equipment for reasonable prices.
Their customer service reps aren't rude; they just know how to get business done in a quick fashion. I have to tend to my wife, so I don't have time to spend talking over and over again with sales staff. I hope that Activ Forever stays in this business, because I'll be doing all of mine through them whenever I need rehab equipment!

Placed my order, my credit card was billed and within 2 weeks I received part of the order. Subsequently my credit card was billed again, putting the total amount I was billed over the order total I had agreed to. I contacted their customer service department three times, including with each email a copy of the receipt ActiveForever.Com had provided clearly showing that I had been over-billed and their response was to send me a copy of their shipping charge schedule. Finally today they contacted me and very sarcastically indicated that I had already sent the receipt on two prior occasions, blamed the over-billing on their software, made no apology and promised to refund the amount I had been over-billed. I still have not received the rest of my order and they have not provided a delivery date for it's fulfillment. Needless to say I will not purchase through them again.

Delivered on schedule. Reasonable customer service.
But VERY BAD quality control. The quad cane has uneven legs, diagonally, makes it UNsafe for elders to use. I ended up returning this $20 dollar purchase, yet paid about $20 round shipping for NOTHING. Be careful with what you order with them.

I ordered a PowerLung (the yellow one) device, and the ordering process was easy and it did arrive on the day it was promised. The price was $89.00 and shipping was inclulded.
When I received the item, there was a catalog in the box. The PowerLung (the yellow one) was in the catalog and the price was $63.95. Shipping was not included but there is a $25 difference and this device is small and weighs next to nothing.
The catalog cover brags they are "serving Super Bowl XLII" which was on February 3, 2008 -- so this is not an ancient catalog. I called customer service and the person that answered hemmed and hawed and really could not give a good explanation, so I said good-bye and told them I would file a complaint.
It's hard to know what to think -- I've looked on the web and $89 does seem to be the going price -- but in the back of my head I keep thinking they had the lower price and then saw they were cheaper than others and decided to increase their price based on their not having any competition.
I had a great experience shopping with ActiveForever to find products to help my Mother who lives alone. The website was easy to use, and the prices were the best I could find anywhere. I had a question about one of the products, so I called the 800 number. To my surprise and delight, a freindly, helpful person (I forgot her name) answered right away! With many websites you can't even find a phone number, much less get someone to answer.
The products arrived quickly and in great shape. I would definitely shop there again. I was initially just looking for things to help my Mother, but they have so many unique and useful items, I'm sure I'll do most of my Christmas shopping there as well!

The shopping experience was fine however they had an upgrade of their website hours after I placed the order and my account and order history was deleted from their server. I had to call to verify my order went through and fortunately it did. However, the order and my prior purchases have been permanently lost. I expect many customers lost their information as well. In my case it was unfortunate it happened right after I ordered.
They are a worthwhile company, however, and I will be doing business with them again. Read more
