I'd shop at Lamps Plus again IF they had something I really wanted and it was on sale with a good reduction. My most recent experience went this way: One of the three lamps was supposed to be a 3-way but was not and had the wrong size harp to accomodate a 3-way bulb. My husband and I rummaged around the house and decided to switch out the needed parts with a couple older lamps we were replacing. It took up pretty much a whole evening and was rather frustrating. I think that was a great deal of unnecessary hassle for us to do on a "brand new" lamp. When I wrote to ask Lamps Plus how we could fix this they sent me this survey and wanted me to tell their other customers how wonderful everything was with my purchase. I replied to the survey company and told them of the problem and asked for help to contact a breathing human at Lamps Plus to see what they could do to remedy sending something in different condition than advertised and causing us to have to go through a big mess to make it right. Then I got a COUPON FOR 20% OFF MY NEXT PURCHASE from Lamps Plus. No letter, no personal response of any kind. Even worse, the coupon had an EXPIRATION DATE that only gave me a few weeks to use it. I feel like I got a recording that said "Oh, did we make a mistake? Guess that's your problem lady. Sounds like you did alright without us having to do anything. Here ya go. Rush back in and SPEND MORE MONEY IMMEDIATELY in our store, ok? And fill out this survey to tell everybody how great we are while you're at it..."
Do I really have to tell anyone reading this what I did with the "coupon"? >:o[
The second of the three lamps was taken to a lamp shop to have a 3-way fixture placed in it, but I knew I'd have to do that when I bought it. It turned out to be a little smaller than I had pictured it in my mind but it's fine now.
The third lamp was precisely what I wanted to accent a renovation of our bedroom and I'm very satisfied with it.
So. You figure it out. One was not as represented and caused us a hassle and some annoyance at being ignored and then given a sour "piece of candy" to shut me up, and the other two were as I expected. I can't give you a truly "all good" or "all bad" set of answers, so I wrote this instead. I would recommend ordering with caution because if you don't get what you expected don't think you're going to get Lamps Plus to respond to you once your payment has cleared.

This site offered the best descriptions of products and size measurements so I was able to accurately gauge what I needed for my lamp bases. Very easy site to use.

The lamps were an anniversary gift for my daughter and son-in-law. They can't stop raving about how much they love them. And of course I am thrilled they are so happy with the gift. I have purchased other items from Lamps Plus and have never been disappointed.

I love that they include Hawaii in their offers for free shipping. For those of us not in the "continental US", Lamps Plus actually treats us as a REAL US state, and not as a foreign country!

Fixture was as described and beautiful. Unique look. Easy to install. The fixture is fully open on the bottom which makies changing the bulb easy but may be considered a safety hazzard in some areas.
