They quoted one price, and wanted to charge more

Found lamps advertised on their site for $75, and ordered Even got confirmation order for both, with the $75 dollar/ea. price.
2 days later received a call from them, that THEY made a mistake, and that their actual(?) price was $171 each, but out of the goodness of their heart, they'd let me have them.
For an extra $40 each. Not exactly legal in CA, and complete BS to expect a customer to cover what they admitted was their mistake (Made twice...)
This kind of soft theft via "mistakes" demonstrates the absolute worst of E-commerce-

When what I ordered was not readily available, I cancelled the order prior to its being shipped. But not only was it shipped anyhow, they shipped me two of the item Lighting Direct admitted they had made a mistake and would pay for the return. Again, they did it in twos, first FedEx then UPS arrived to pick up the items. I tracked the return and provided Lighting Direct with return data. They promised a refund but here I am two weeks later without a refund being sent to my credit card. I am familiar with the speed of electronic signals (the speed of light but not Lighting Direct). Throughout the ordeal, every agent has been totally agreeable but at the same time totally incompetent.

Quality products fast shipping good price but bad return policy/response

I bought two separate pendant lights from them at very good prices. Shipping time was prompt. However, when I found it necessary to return an item, it took nearly a month to get my refund after they received the item I sent. That is unacceptable. How long does it take to electronically issue money back to Pay Pal??? Apparently too long. I'd recommend you buy from them but be sure of your purchase!

I found Lighting Direct when I was looking for a better price on a fixture I had found on another web site. Lighting Direct's price did beat the competions' so I ordered it. It took significantly longer to receive this fixture than I anticipated. It didn't ship for at least 7-10 days and when I did receive it, it had rust damage. I immediately called in to make an exchange and I was supposed to receive information on returning the damaged fixture within a few days, but I haven't yet. Other companies I've dealt with have been much more efficient in delivering return information and in communicating generally. Lighting Direct has not automatically sent me shipping confirmations or tracking information, but will if it is requested. They have been prompt in responding to e-mail inquiries. Maybe my experience isn't typical -- I assume my fixture was more difficult to get out in a timely manner, but as this is the only experience I've had with them I can't be sure.

LightingDirect Online is great, wonderful Service. Customer service was helpful and solved my problem. They replaced my BESA with a better brand, no problems after that.

Absolutely awful.
I received a broken sconce. I was told to get a replacement quickly I should just reorder it and wait for return information in 3 days. I did that.
First they charged me almost 40% more for the replacement. This took several phone calls and endless hassles to resolve.
Then, a week later still no credit information. Finally, after yet another round of phone calls and unanswered emails, I get a claim slip where I'm told I have to wait 45 to 60 days for a credit refund.
Extremely shoddy business practices. Extremely poor service.
Lighting is fragile. Every lighting supplier knows stuff will break. These bozos did not package it well at all. Then they lied about the credit and conned me into paying for another item. Then, after a huge headache, I'm told wait another two months.

My first experience with lightingdirect.com was I enquired about an item they had not had listed, and they told me they would post the item the next day and follow up with a phone call and e-mail. They never did any of the three. I called them back, they said they would contact me again.....never did. I did purchase an item that was said to be shipped within a week. Two weeks later after another e-mail enquiring when this item would arrive, i was told then it was back ordered. I called about the situation and the girl on the phone treated me as tho my buisness doesn't matter and asked me if I would like my refund NOW! Lightingdirect.com is your typical fast to take your money with horrible customer service "if any" website.

I bought a $400 ceiling lamp from LightingDirect, and when I received it 3 parts were missing. I called and was treated very cordially. I received the parts within 5 days and I am extremely happy with my purchase. I would certainly go to LightingDirect for any upscale lighting needs.

Unbelievably great!! I ordered my light, and two days later I received an email saying it had been shipped and 2 hours later it arrived in perfect condition. It is a beautiful light and I'm thrilled with the whole process. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

The shipment was received about a month before we were ready to install the fixtures. When we went to install the fixtures, a piece of decorative trim was busted off in 5 or 6 small pieces. We were in need of the fixtures then, and did not want to wait on reshipment, so we superglued it back. It actually is not noticeable without really searching for it. I am not dissatisfied, just alittle disappointed that it broken.

I really liked being able to access many excellent lighting suppliers on one website. I also liked being able to query the items in many different ways. I didn't realize I would have so much trouble finding what I wanted in a bathroom lightbar. The website solved all of the driving and trying to find lighting suppliers out of town. The ordering was quick and the items were received quickly.
