I bought a light fixture and the same day found it on sale on another site. I requested a refund of the difference. After several days and only after Lighting Universe had shipped the light (thus I could not cancel the order) did they inform me that they would not match the price. Shop somewhere else for better service and better prices.

We have been trying since July to complete an order of $4000 in lighting with this company...we finally cancelled the whole order after 8 emails from them in two months..(1 each week for 2 months) with messages that the items were delayed ..finally we cancelled..then they shipped the order in October...3 months after original order was placed and a month after we cancelled. We sent numerous emails and left messages on their voicemails for weeks with no response. This week we talked to 5 different reps to try and return product (we ended up buying local to complete our kitchen remodel)...the best response we got was we could try to sell the items on EBAY...we will end up in court over this ridiculous company...we shop online all the time with fabulous results...this has been expensive and a waste of our time...

The website was easy to use. I ordered the wrong light by mistake- the picture showed a pewter one but the default wasn't on pewter so I got the wrong one. I think if they only show one picture than that should be the one it is automatically defaulted to. After looking at 500 lights or more and putting many in my shopping cart before deleting them, I didn't realize that it was wrong. Then I called to tell them that and they only told me how to return the wrong one ( I had to pay shipping) and they didn't order the right one- I had to call again and now my bill shows I have to pay shipping again maing the light cost more than twice the original cost.

I liked the extensive variety of products offered as well as the competitive prices. The products I ordered (3 kitchen ceiling lights) arrived on time, as ordered, undamaged and their quality and appearance were as expected. The only thing I would like to see added to the website is a good description of the glass for the light fixture (had to call customer service to get a specific description because I didn't want to rely entirely on the photo). I placed my order on-line for two patio furniture covers. When I had not received a confirmation of my order by the next day, I called the company. At that time I was told one of the items was back ordered and not expected in for 7-10 days. I attempted to cancel the order but was told I would not receive a cancellation confirmation for 1-2 days. When the confiramtion came through I was told one of the items had already been shipped and it could not be canceled. In the meantime I had found the same products for less on Amazon and had ordered them. Now I have two of the same item. To return the item to this company would have involved having to pay for shipping to me and back to the company plus a restocking fee, which was not worth it. In addition, my charge account was charged for both items and I did not receive the credit for the back ordered item for over a week. Read more

The purchase was easy. The product arrived on time - the packing was a bit broken up inside leading me to believe that the product might be defective. It wasn't. The directions were installation instructions were helpful. My husband did have to make some alterations as one of the nuts was stripped. All-in-all a wonderful purchase and the product is a beautiful addition to our home.

I would check to see where all components are made and what they are made of . As I stated in the first survey, the cut glass was made in Italy and beautiful. The mounting piece was made in China, plastic (not brass as expected) and cheap looking and made. There were also no directions and the threaded rod was too short no matter which way was attempted. Luckily, we had one on hand that fit. My husband built and did all the plumbing and wiring in our addition and the man on the telephone spoke as if he (husband) knew nothing. Item also not returnable. I would have returned it because of the plastic brass.
