The worst purchase experience I've ever had

This is probably the worst purchase experience I’ve ever had. At best these people care nothing for their customers. I question their honesty.
I placed an order with Luggagepoint 3 weeks before Christmas, for which I was charged immediately. Over a week later I was informed that the item was not available, and asking if I wanted a refund or a substitute. I asked for a refund. I had no response to that mail, or the 2 others I sent, nor any refund. When I finally got them on the phone, 3 weeks later, they told me they couldn’t issue a refund because their supplier was on vacation!!! A week after that they sent me an email saying the refund had been issued. Yet here I am 2 months after the original order, with no refund. Luggagepoint insists they provided one, and that it’s my problem now. My credit card company confirms that no credit has been received, and the charge is in dispute.

Sneaky, shady, lying, misleading

luggagepoint.com states at the top of the page, "60-day return" but their packing lists describe a 30 Day return policy. This is either intentional deception or and unacceptable oversight. It is also a confusing process to get an RMA#, and inappropriate that they need 1-3 DAYS to generate a simple code. This is all to make it difficult for consumers to return unwanted items. I had never heard of luggagepoint before it came up during bing.com search results. Given how easy it is for consumers to share their shopping experiences these days by contacting search engines, the BBB, BizRate, as well as blogging, Facebook and Twitter, their business practices are risky and short-sighted.
I should have done this to start with, but I checked on the Better Business Bureau and the company's certification has lapsed.

Return policy on shipping poor

Beware - If you receive product you are not satisfied with it will be your responsibility to pay the return shipping cost. This can be very costly, to return the piece I received the cost were almost 50% of the items valve $52. I'm basically stuck with something I don't want.

NEVER order from this company. I ordered an item that was listed as "in stock". It was actually "out of stock". Instead of saying that, they sent a different item to me. I had many phone calls with them where they were rude. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had to beg and threaten them to get them to pay for return shipping. I had to follow up numerous times to get the refund on my card...even after the item had been returned and back in their hands for weeks! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY!

Never again will I deal with this company - they cannot be trusted. After receiving my initial shipment late, two of the products were the wrong model. It took 7 phone calls and three emails and five weeks to get the issue resolved - persistence on the customer' s part is not what I consider good customer service. This company falsly displays their BBBOnline certification - they had that lapse due to a high number of complaints. They also claim 24x7 customer service, when in fact they have someone that answers the phone 24x7, but has to contact the third party customer service company during business hours. NEVER, NEVER again will I buy from this company.

Customer service is dead -- lied about item in stock

Ordered a 3 piece set that was listed as in stock via second day air because I needed new luggage for a business trip...order sat in "pending" status for five days (during which time I contact a service rep who confirmed for me that my item was in stock and would "without a doubt" be delivered to me in time for my trip). Now, with only one day to spare IF they shipped it today, it goes into "Backorder" status...hmm, could it have ANYTHING to do with the fact that I asked them to honor their price match guarantee? You be the judge, but buyer beware.

Great product. Service was excellent. I called to check on the delivery date and the representative was polite and helpful. The office in charge of returns was easy to deal with and sent refund quickly.

I ordered a tote bag to go with my Streamlite 3000 Samsonite luggage and luckily it fit the handle perfectly. The price was about half what I would have paid at the outlet Samsonite store for the go along piece. Needless to say, I am very pleased and in addition there are many pockets.

The only thing I don't like about LuggagePoint is that the item's descriptions are insufficient. There is not enough detail. I had to research what I wanted to buy on other websites, and then go back to LuggagePoint to purchase it. This was very annoying. Example: for the the Skooba Skin laptop sleeve I ordered, LuggagePoint only listed the available exterior colors with small pictures too tiny to be of any use; a competitior's website told me that the brown Skooba Skin was brown corduroy exterior with a teal interior. That's the kind of detail that I need.

The price and purchase was great, but the tracking was unnaceptable. I actually became very concerned with your company and the validity of it because the tracking for my product never updated. I began to think your company was a scam since the product status never changed. I contacted the better business bureau and saw that you were in good standing, so I felt a little better. Then the product came (after about 6 days I think) and I was glad. I definitely think your tracking needs to be much better unless my experience was unusual. Overall, though, the product is great and I would buy from you again.

My order was shipped in 2 separate shipments, but I received a notice everything shipped together. When the order arrived, 1 item was missing. I e-mailed to question about it and was told it would ship separately. A few days later it arrived then I receive another notice with the new shipping information and tracking number.
No big deal, just need to be more on top of notifying customers of what's going on with their orders.

For whatever reason, LuggagePoint uses DHL for shipping and they are clueless! They "made" 2 attempts to deliver and failed to leave the package in the lobby, like UPS and FedEx does all the time. I had to call them to arrange a specific time for delivery, and then they failed to show! They then arbitrarily, without my say-so, chose to deliver it the next day - leaving the package in the lobby when I wasn't home!!!!
The saving are NOT worth the waste of your time!
