I believe MagsForLess to be a scam.

I placed 3 magazine subscriptions with MagsForLess.com on 9/11/06. To date I have received none. I attempted the email route. Received no response. I then found these reviews and am writing to warn others as well. I have placed a complaint with the BBB. I encourage others to do so too. I will also dispute on my credit card.

HORRIBLE

This is the WORST online shopping I've ever done. I paid for People magazine subscription in July and has not received anything since then. When I first emailed them in September, I did receive an email back telling me it may take another 10 weeks. Well, it's been over 20 weeks and I still have not received anything and all subsequent email requests for a refund was ignored. AVOID this scam magazine store!!!!!!

Don't always go with the cheapest option

Don't waste your time!
I ordered Sports Illustrated from them as a gift back in February...it is now August and I am still dealing with it. The charges went through the my credit card and I paid, but the magazine never came. At first I could not find a number, so I emailed them. It took them 2 weeks to get back to me and told me they need to look into it. Did not hear back and so I sent another email and found a phone number and left a message on what sounds like a home answering machine. Today I get an email back saying they realized that there was a problem with my order and I should remember that I got the magazine for a very low price that I cannot find anywhere. The email continues to say that they can reprocess the order or get a refund...I decided to try and reprocess the order (since I already paid anyway). They also offered me 2 free subscriptions to a list of about 10 magazines. Let's see if I get them...

I wish I would have read these reviews before I placed a magazine order for a gift for Christmas. I ordered it in December, and I have received no response from the company when I contacted them. Seriously! Go someplace else. SAVE YOUR MONEY!! And if you get riped off, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org). These people need to be stopped!

They got my money, but lost my order!!!!!

I got LUCKY!!!! I placed an order for one magazine last week. I paid using PayPal because the credit card prompts on their website weren't working. Once I paid for the order, I immediately got a message that there was a problem with my order, I needed to contact the "support team." I'm convinced there isn't such a thing. Since MagsForLess now had my money but not my order, I started emailing them, but got no response. I took another route and contacted PayPal. They told me how to file a complaint/dispute and I had my money back within hours. As well as a response from MagsForLess saying "I apologize for the errors you are encountering. I have forwarded this
issue to our web team." PayPal was AWESOME and quick!!!

On Oct. 16, 2006, I placed an order for a 1 year subscription to Good
Housekeeping Magazine. So far, after six months, I have not received my first
issue. They refuse to respond to emails other than saying that they guarantee a response within 2 business days! I have repeatedly sent follow-up complaints which they totally ignore.

Not worth the money that you THINK you are saving!

I ordered two kids magazines back in November of 2006 and I have yet to this day to see either. When I opened a dispute with magsforless.com, they simply stated that there had been an error with my order and that it had been cancelled. Of course, I was never notified and they had charged my credit card 2 times on top of that!! I am STILL trying to get the situation resolved but I can't get anyone to return my emails anymore. I think this company is a complete scam and they should be put out of business! If you order magazines from this company, be prepared to loose your money and see nothing but a headache in return!

Once Great, Now a SCAM!

First 2 subscriptions were GREAT. No problems at all, and the mags are cheap. Latest subscription placed in June has not arrived and there is minimal to ZERO contact made from their Customer Support after sending numerous emails. Sent a complaint to the BBB, so we'll see, but I doubt if anything will come of it. If you asked me how I liked MagsForLess a couple of years ago, I would give it very high marks, but now, I would say STAY AWAY!!

RIPPED OFF BY MAGSFORLESS.COM

Ordered 5 magazines from them on 1/20/06 and paid with Paypal. Waited 11 weeks and did not receive one magazine. Contacted them and received an email stating that they could not fill the order (never heard anything from them for 3 months after I placed the order) and would process a refund. Have contacted them several times and still no refund! Company rep Jeff Parker sends folksy form letters about how sorry they are to have inconvienced me but then does nothing to rectify the problem. AVOID THIS COMPANY! THEY ALSO DO BUSINESS AS "halfpricedmags.com"

I have been trying to receive a credit on my card since June. I have been promised more than three times by "Meagan" of customer service, that a refund was coming.
I have contacted the Better Business Bureau regarding this company and their practices. I would never, never use this company again! They should be put out of business.

BEWARE / BAD BUSINESS!

I had used them before no problem, then tried again June 27,2006. Ordered a subscription to People magazine - they charged me right away and sent a confirmation to wait 4-6 weeks. After 7 weeks I emailed through their website (conveniently they do not offer a phone number). Meagan@Magsforless.com replied saying it was publisher issue and she had resubmitted the order and called the publisher to expedite the order, but that I should wait another 4-12 weeks (that should have clued me in). 10 weeks later and nothing. Tried emailing through the site - no response. Got the 888 number listed with their parent company My1Mag.com (888) 720-6298 and it routes you to a voice mailbox that is "full." I am now out $86.99 with no recourse as the credit card will only dispute charges less than 60 days old (lesson learned).

SCAM!!

I am out $86.99. On June 27, 2006 I ordered a subscription for People, per their order confirmation I should have received in in 4-6 weeks. Seven weeks later nothing, so I emailed them through their site. They responded with an apology, saying the Publisher had issues with the formatting and they resubmitted the order and put a "rush" on it, but I should wait another 4-10 weeks for delivery. I believed them, but got fed up because after 9 more weeks/ nothing. I attempted to email them again through their site and have never received a response yet. I called the 888 number from my credit card it was purchased on and it went to a mailbox that was "full" - like that would ever happen at a legitimate company.
Beware all - I had used them a few years ago without a problem like this. I can not even get my money back because the credit card company can only dispute charges less than 60 days old (lesson learned).

Worst Experience Ever!

As many others before me said - MagsForLess is a SCAM as is the my1mags they use after you buy from them. I ordered almost $100 worth of magazines for my boyfriend and I and neither of us received ANYTHING. I wish I would have searched harder and found what other people went through before I bought from this horrible company who takes your money and then never produces any follow-thru! Customer service is terrible as well - NO RESPONSE to my emails or phone calls. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I never EVER review anything but I decided that anyone looking for info about this company deserves to know that ANOTHER PERSON has been cheated. My overall satisfaction - negative! Run like hell from MagsForLess!

I am very pleased with my experience at MagsForLess. I had been warned about ordering magazines online, but this website was wonderful. The website was easy to navigate, and the first issue of the magazine I ordered as a surprise for my fiancee arrived promptly. When I had a question about the credit card I used, the customer service representative was delightful. I really am very pleased.
