Officemax actually came through!

Officemax actually came through! I used to work for their phone order department in 1996 in Ohio, and let me tell you they would run of of advertised specials all the time. They would advertise computer specials and beat everyone in price but only have a few of them so they would have to refund all the credit cards. They had little or no inventory updates in their warehouses, I guess. Well, I ordered a sale computer a few days after Thanksgiving through the Officemax website and it was about $120.00 less than HP's website even with HP's rebates. I thought I'd never get one but they delivered it today, and in a factory sealed box!. I was very impressed.

OfficeMax is not interested in keeping customers

After losing my initial order, billing me for the replacement order and refusing to make any efforts to make me happy, I will not order from Office Max again. Everyone I talked to at customer service was pleasant, but it seemed as if they were not allowed any decision-making power. Not even to offer a 10% discount after two days and numerous phone calls! I was so disappointed with my experience.

Avoid at all costs. Worst customer service possible.

This store has the worst customer service imaginable. I ordered a couple of filing cabinets, which arrived promptly. However, one of the filing cabinets was damaged, and I was issued an RMA - 10 days later, it still has not been picked up, and I still have not been refunded (they did ship a replacement by billing me for a new one). Additionally, no one in customer service has been helpful - they also never call back as promised.
I would never shop here again, regardless of any price advantage they may have at a given time.

I saw a nice HP Pavilion bundle offer with $150 savings available on a sneak peek of their weekly ads on their website- before the ad was released. Naturally, I immediately ordered it online-- but the website didn't offer the $150, even after the review page. I went to the store to place a special order and paid upfront. I was told that the bundle would arrive in two days. Two days passed, and no computer. I called customer service at least 10 times but was put on hold every time I called. Then, I called the store I ordered it from, and they said it was backordered and wouldn't be available for up to 7-10 days. This is absolutely ridiculous, after everything I've read it seems EVERYTHING at Office Max is backordered. After all that trouble, I had to wait a longer time for the computer, so the computer didn't arrive in time for what I had planned, to get a computer for my father who came from out of the states to visit. He got no computer and I am very frustrated with Office Max.

I did not heed the warning of others and placed an order with Office Max. 24 hrs later as predicted they back ordered the item I wanted, no way will it be here for Christmas. Do not order from Office Max!!!

OfficeMax knowingly selling defective products and does not honor warranty/support

I purchased O'Sullivan's Digital Satellite (USB Hub) sold online exclusively by OfficeMax to find the secondary upstream port doesn't work. Irregardless this Digital Satellite meets their "Technology Item" clause invoking a limited return/warranty of 14 days, selling a product known to have a design flaw is unconscionable!
Thankfully, J Chen at promanproducts.com has a conscience and stands by his product unlike OfficeMax who only wants your money...

I purchased a computer chair at OfficeMax with a $30 rebate offered. I submitted the paperwork for the rebate and several weeks later checked out their rebate site and found that my rebate had been denied due to an invalid postal date. What balony. In my search for other complaints about OfficeMax Rebates I have found thousands of complaints online about them. They are a bunch of crooks. I will never shop at their store again and I advise others to take their business elsewhere.

I purchase nearly every office supply I need from OfficeMax and have always found the store personal helpful. They know their products and are friendly as well. It is surprising to read of bad experiences at OfficeMax because the one I shop at is always a good place to do business with.

I ordered a computer desk from these people and it never arrived the day that it was supposed to. I called customer service and they said that there were 7 in stock and that I should receive it within the next two days. The next day, after receiving a conformation e-mail that my order had been shipped, I received a phone call telling me that the item was no longer available and my order was canceled. It took them 7 days to release the temporary hold on my credit card. This was absolutely the worst experience that I have ever had and when I told customer service that, they had nothing to say. I will stick with Staples from now on.
