It sounds good but drops out at every overpass.

Setting up the receiver and registering on line was a piece of cake. No problems at all. I bought a Blaupunkt receiver that sends the satellite signal to my FM radio in the car.... it also sends it several hundred feet beyond the car which allows me to leave it on in the car, and listen in my office on my FM radio.

The really annoying thing is that at almost every overpass, the signal drops out a few seconds later. I thought there was a buffer to keep that from happening, and the Blaupunkt was defective, but the other comments seem to show the same problem. I'd like to hear from others about this.

Good programming, too much talk, horrible response to defective product

My receiver quit working after two months of service. Worst possible response from Sirius: There are no replacements available for product support customers. Only available in stores to new customers! Further, they haven't had any since Christmas and don't know when they will get any. Incredible! You can buy a new one but you can't get your existing one repaired or replaced. Best they could do is deactivate the service. In the meantime, I go back to life before Sirius. Also, calls to their "Director of Customer Care", (Mr Joe McGinnis) are a waste of time because Mr Director doesn't return calls to customers in his care.

I have enjoyed Sirius so far. Programming is good, and I pick it up good in the Kansas City Metro area.


One of the reasons I subscribed to Sirius, however, is that they claim on their web page to provide streaming for their service through the internet. I wanted to listen at work. The problem with that is that it is not all of the channels, but rather just the music stations. I can stream music stations through Yahoo or Real networks and have the ability to skip songs that I don't like, for FREE! I wanted streaming satellite radio for the news/talk/entertainment streaming. You don't get that. Only on the FAQ section on their web page do they say that...not on the page where they advertise their streaming content. I think that's deceptive.

Overall, though, in my car, its fine. I don't recommend them, however for the reason I stated above.

For Christmas, my wife and I received both a Sirius and XM subscription & receiver. She has the Sirius, and I the XM. However, I look for every chance to drive her car!

The biggest difference I've seen between the two is the programming. With XM, I spend all my time going through the channels trying to fins *something* I like. With Sirius, I always have to choose which song/content I like *better*. I'm not sure why, but XM's programming is pretty awful. For example, the "Decades" channels, particularly the 80s and 90s, always seem to be playing something that I don't recognize. It's like they're playing the greatest B-sides from those decades.

BUT, this review is about Sirius. While I do have issues with signal problems (trees, bridges, etc.), overall I'm very, very pleased.

This company will loose any customer that has to deal with their warrantee department. If there's any problem (and it seems like many people have them), you have a minimum wait time of 3 months without your radio. When, and if, they replace the radio it will be a refurbished one. If you are lucky, the 'new' radio will 'work'. If you do want to talk with a rep., it will be a minimum of a 45 minute wait with the most horrendous elevator music imaginable.

I do have to admit that I like the Sirius music selection and the DJs, but that will be the only compliment that I will give them. I don't recommend Sirius Satellite Radio, unless you want to pay a monthly charge for nothing.

They "siriusly" SUCK

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had. Have the maximum 5 subscriptions per account with 1 year of service for each. Each was billed to different credit cards. Sirius must draw straws as to which card they "feel" like debiting. What a disaster! One account holder was billed for three other subscriptions that came "due"and he only had his unit for 3 months. Go figure, obviously Sirius hasn't. Can't get any reply on email nor can anyone I've spoken to help. I've been given a multitude of phone numbers to no avail. My recommendation unfortunately would be to count your losses and cancel or change credit cards or bank info. They WILL steal from you and there is not much you can do. Stern and co. should be red in the face to be associated with these crooks. GRRRRR!

If you have no ordering, fulfillment, shipping, or billing issues with this company, you'll be in 7th heaven! The music assortment couldn't be better. I, however, had issues with all of the above, including overcharges of more than $250. There customer (dis) service is the worst on the planet. No one is empowered to do anything; whoever you speak with will tell you precisely what you want to hear and then not follow up on anything. The company does not respond to emails; they do not return phone calls. I purchased 3 units...love the music...TOTALLY regret doing business with Sirius.

I ordered a Jeep and decided to upgrade the radio to a satallite radio for an extra $200 but it inc. a free year subscription to Sirius. I listen to the regular radio the majority of the time. I have 2 favorite local stations, non of all the stations Sirius offers. Not only do they play better songs but the music is clearer on my local stations. When you listen to the satellite you lose the station when you go under a bridge or if there is cloud cover. It also takes a few seconds before it picks up a station when you change stations.

Friends that have played with it have been disappointed as well.

I will NOT renew.

Horrible, Wrong, Theft and bad customer sevice

I sold my car, called Sirius and cancelled service.

A few months later, I get collections calls from NCO Financial. They also send me collection letters as if I am a delinquent.

I called NCO, they have a VM box, left 3 or 4 messages, nobody called back.

I called Sirius; they said I don’t owe them any money and gave me the same NCO Tel#.

This was an endless loop, it takes 30 minutes to talk to Sirius and the VM with NCO is useless.

The Charge was for $28.05 and I was afraid those bastards at NCO would mess up my credit, so I sent them a check.

Its sad how they were successful in making me pay for something I didn’t use or have and get away with it because I was afraid they would screw up my good credit.

These collections agencies are the scum of the earth.

Let me know if you have a similar situation, with enough people we might be able to class-action sue them!

Sure purchasing your new radio online is easy enough, but if you get the thing in the mail and something is wrong with the unit plan on being on hold and transferred for over an hour!! Sirius seriously sucks in customer service!
