I have purchased several items on eBay recently and shortly thereafter received emails from the seller advising me that I had better get a warranty from SquareTrade to protect my purchase. These emails were signed by the seller, had the seller's eBay name in the return address, and were written as though the seller was recommending I pay SquareTrade for a warranty or my purchase was at risk.

This was especially annoying since some of the items were listed as including a warranty with the purchase.

After a little digging, and some correspondence with the sellers in each case, I found out the the seller DID NOT send these emails, and had no knowledge of them. These were emails sent by SquareTrade spoofing the seller's email address. THAT IS FRAUD. My purchases came with warranties from the seller and the recommendation that I must buy additional protection was untrue and a lie perpetrated by SquareTrade.

SOOOOO.. if *that* is how SquareTrade operates, you can draw your own conclusions as to what their warranties are worth.

I have reported them the the California State Attorney General for deliberate consumer fraud.

Very proffesional effective and reliable service . They refunded the money for the brocken camera that can't be fixed, they didn't charge me for shipping , excellent service .

Great service. Once I called, everything was handled very professionally. They gave me instructions to return the product and even sent a mailing label.... that's free shipping. My warranty cost was about the same price if I had to mail it myself! Once I mailed it I was given a status of what was happening all the way till I had my monies deposited in Paypal.... Again great service. They even contacted me to see if I was having problems getting the monies from Paypal. You can't ask for BETTER SERVICE!!! 

The best service out there.I highly recommend them. Had a problem with my phone and called the claim service and they were so helpful. Fast response. Getting a phone from e-bay, better get insurance with Square Trade.

My experience with Square Trade Inc. was an excellent one. I filled out some of the information needed on the computer and then was asked to phone them. Their Representative was very professional in dealing with me, the customer. I told him what was wrong with the product and after hearing this he told me that I should send back the item and that they would send me back the exact cost of the item as it would be too expensive to fix. I did this after they sent me the mailing sticker for the package. They paid for the postage back to them. No hassle or hesitation from them. I would definitely do business with them in the future. The money was sent immediately to my Pay Pal account for the future use in purchasing another camera.

Wow what a pleasant surprise. This was dealt with far more efficiently then I expected. Everything was very organised. I filled the claim in online, mailed the phone back to them once I had the go ahead and the refund was posted to my paypal account in days. Very pleased that I took out the warranty and immediately did so for the next phone that I bought.

SquareTrade reimbursed the full amount I paid for the item with no hassle and in a very reasonable amount of time. Overall, I am very satisfied with SquareTrade and I will continue to purchase warranties through them.

Verry bad experiance. I purchased a warranty on a cell phone, the cell phone quit working and they would not stand behind it because it failed before it was 60 days old.  The original warranty expired after 30 days and I paid them for a 2 year warranty.  They were verry unhelpful and I got nothing from them. I have nothing good to say about my experiance

The popup flash on my Fuji S700 wouldn't popup for flash. I contacted ST and received a packing box with all the mailing labels and instructions along with email confirmations. I sent the camera for repair and received it fixed pronto.

The turnaround and completeness of service was incredible - all within 5 business days!

I've got several items with ST and have been please with all of their coverage on the items. I am buying an enetbook today at Fry's and will us ST for it too.

Lousy.  They sent me spam (via ebay) trying to sell me warranty coverage on my purchase. But my purchase was warranty coverage!  AppleCare. 

I bought a DVD/VHS recorder on ebay.  I purchased the coverage from square trade.  The VHS on the unit started making a loud noise when operating. I called square trqade and explained the problem.  They sent me a shipping lable for the return and refunded me the full purchase price of 107.68.  I am very happy with square trade.  No problem what so ever.

The Best Warranty service on the market.  I choose against warranty service on most items.  However, when it comes to some electronics (xbox 360 ring of death etc.), I love the peace of mind Square Trade affords.  Square Trade is simply the best Warranty Service in the known world.  Don't let the retailers jab you for more when Square Trade's convenience, customer service, and price blow compettitors away.  For me and my house, we will stick with square trade when considering a warranty.  They make it easy to transfer warranties too!  I purchased an old mobile phone off ebay and a subsequent 2 year warranty, turned around and sold the item on ebay one year later and included a warranty transfer.  Ebay buyers ate up the fact I could offer a warranty on such an old product.

Square Trade Warranty was worth the investment. Claim service was quick, efficient and very accurate. Very satisfied customer. Absolutely no hassle claim service and quick resolution. Automatically deposited claim in my Pay Pal account. No waiting. No questions. Perfect!!! Thank-you.

I have purchased several SquareTrade warranties, but have never had to make a claim until now. The process was painless, quick, and efficient. When I called, the person I spoke to was honest and courteous. Once the phone arrived at their facilities, the refund was just days away. I hate my item failed, but I'm glad SquareTrade didn't fail! Easy to use.  Fast service.  Excellent repair work.  However, I learned the hard way that some repairs result in ST cancelling the remainder of your coverage.  This happened on a digital camera repair.  First, ST claimed they sent me a new camera and that I needed to buy coverage on it.  When I explained that some nicks and scratches were proof that they fixed my camera and returned it instead of sending me a new one, ST changed its tune and said it was due to the cost of repairs being a certain % of the camera's value, which therefore meant ST fulfulled its warranty obligation in spite of it being only 6 months into a 3 year contract.  Still, the camera has worked fine since the repair and two other issues I've had (MP3 player and PDA) have been resolved to my satisfaction.  However, I've noticed extended warranties provided by retailers have come way down in price, and I will probably use them more often than ST.
