I was very impressed with the website and selection and placed a very large order. Two days later I received an e-mail telling me that about 25% of my items were out of stock. It was inconvenient and forced me to order them
from another source. The items in stock were received promptly, but the lack of real time inventory was a decided negative.

Placed on on-line order with The Sock Company and 2 days later received an email advising me 1 of the 2 items was backordered and would ship 7-21 days later.  Great!  Christmas in January.  Maybe.  A telphone call to customer service revealed that they have no live inventory system.  So, what you order on-line may or may not actually be available.  The customer service rep knew the item had been backordered for some time yet was still listed for sale.  If you're going to order from The Sock Company, my advice is to call them with your order and be sure to ask them if the item is in stock.
