Very good experience with Wirefly

I had a very good experience dealing with Wirefly.com. I had read some pretty bad reviews on this and other sites but the problems all seemed to involve rebates. The deal that I took advantage of was two free Motorola V220 phones with 2 free car chargers when I signed up for the Cingular $39.99 plan. I added a line under FamilyTalk for an additional $19.99 that is why the 2nd phone was added. Since the phones and chargers were free, I did not have to lay out any money in advance. I ordered the phones and plan on Tuesday nite, May 17th at about 9pm. The phones were shipped immediately and FedEx showed up at my door on Thursday, May 19th at 11am. Not only did I receive the 2 phones and 2 chargers but also 2 free belt clips and ear buds. My experience--easy ordering, fast delivery, order was as advertised (and extras as I explained) and good customer service. Very Satisfied!!

Did not receive the rebate from Wirefly.

Bad experience with Wirefly's mail-in rebate. The rebate could only be mailed after 180 days of purchase and then only within a 30 day window. However after submitting, the rebate was rejected as invalid. The rebate was resubmitted and rejected once again.

They Did not return my rebates, do not by from them. I had the rebates forms filled up correctly (January 2006), and they have confirmed it, it's 2007 !!! and yet I have not received my rebates. I called them, and every time they will say the same thing,- do not worry we will send them, we are moving currently to a different rebate system (this is just SCAM in my opinion).

So Horrible!!! Don't buy, Don't buy from this website. I ordered 2 Motorola razor from this website by paying $500. I was supposed to get $400 back through rebate. But, I never got that money back. If I ask they tell so many reasons. Initially they told they lost all the documents, later they told some other stupid reasons. Not very easy to contact customer service

You'll will NEVER get your rebate!!!!! They will make up excuses like....they didn't receive your UPC code or it's still processing. I submitted my rebate over 4 months ago and I haven't received a penny! DON'T SHOP HERE!!!

Buyers BEWARE!!! This is a fraudulent company. It sounded too good to be true and I was sucked into it. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. You will be charged $250 by Tmobile and another $250 by Imphonic/wirefly if you had to modify your plan for any reason. God help you if you have a family plan and had to modify your plan before the end of your contract. You will be charged $1000 for that.

They are the worst:
There is no rebate. They take your money and rip you off.
I got two motorola phones and sent the rebates in, but then had to send another bill in. They tell you in very non-specifics that your claim is invalid, but no information to help get all the information in to get it back to them on time.
I faxed them the info, and many reps look at the information after I was told that the POSTMARK was too late. There was no post mark. I faxed the information.
BUYERS BEWARE: Get a better deal with some REPUTABLE COMPANY<

excellent phones ..But one problem only one of the two phones was programmed properly had to spend a total of three hours on the phone between wirefly and cingular. finally got someone at cingular with half a brain that had to issue a new phone number and reprogram the unit.. Beware if you are purchasing two units on one rate plan as they may not be setup properly. otherwise the sale and transaction was very good.

This is the worst experience I have had with shopping online. Most horrible customer service. Every customer support agent tells you something different. Very very slow service. I had a problem with my phone, due to mistakes on the company's part, I had to go through a lot of troubles, which lead to me being without a phone for 3 weeks!! And the people do not seem to be bothered about any problem being faced by the customer. This is the worst website to buy anything from. I highly recommend everyone not to purchase anything from these people.

The worst telephone purchase EVER.

I had two transactions with Wirefly. The online transaction went well, the telephone transaction was HORRIBLE. When I received the phone, there was a $49.99 charge from National Cellular Owners Association (NCOA) for some protection service I didn't want. All attempts to get a refund of this unwanted service were met "sorry, can't help you." Email messages were not returned and written correspondences to them were ignored. Absolutely terrible customer service.

Patience pays off

I got two great phones (Razr and Dash) for free. After the rebates, I will actually be ahead $100. I like the shipment tracking site, but even though I paid for overnight shipping, both of my phones were out of stock and I ended up waiting just under 2 weeks to actually receive my phones. Customer service was polite but useless. They don't have any extra information about phones, service plans or your order - I don't really know what purpose they serve. But in the end I would recommend Wirefly because those phones would have cost me $500 in a store. It was worth the wait.

Unbelievable Shame that Wirefly is still in the business with Customer Service reps this bad! I was just trying to buy a cell phone through their web site but wanted to find out some information about the shipping time and number porting process. The customer service rep didn't even want to talk to me when I told him that I was buying the phone from the website instead of buying it on the phone. Unfortunately, there is no other number I could call to get info about internet sales. I tried calling them again and went to different rep who behaved the exact same way. The problem I have is with the way the service reps talked to me once they knew that they weren't getting my business. They had absolutely no respect, no professionalism and no courtesy in their tone. Every rep I talked to had an Indian accent, clearly indicating that these guys had absolutely no idea what customer service means! I am glad I haven't bought a product from these people..It would have been a total nightmare! If Inphonic wants to keep it's stock price up, they better get their customer service out of India!

Do yourself a favor - look elsewhere and save yourself grief

This is a horrible outfit. Yes, I did get the two phones I ordered. But they signed me up for the wrong plan and I had to work with Cingular for two months to get it straightened out. Also, their rebate system sucks. I precisely followed their procedures - which are arduous and designed to keep you from actually being able to actually get the rebates - and I STILL have no word on my rebates. I am beginning to get the feeling I will never see them (and they amounted to $300.00 - so this is no small matter).
PLEASE do yourself a favor and don't be lured in by their low prices. You will do far better to pay a little more to a reputable dealer.
UPDATE (10/1/05): I NEVER DID get my rebate. Though I was VERY careful to fill out all the forms correctly (four separate envelopes that were so think that two stamps had to be used on each) and included all the paperwork in each one, my rebates were denied. All attempts to reach them on the phone were unsuccessful. This company is a joke and their ads a FRAUD.

I did NOT make a purchase because the phone rep was extremely rude and pushy. I made a call to get clarification about the product and plans (which I think is a fair thing to do if I am going to spend money anywhere), but the only thing the phone rep wanted was to make a sale. He was impatient and unhappy to answer questions and simply and rudely pushed at me if I was making a purchase today after I asked just two questions about the plans and service. Well I would have if I got clarification and if he wasn't so rude. If this is my experience before purchase, just imagine how it would be after making the purchase. Wirefly lost me and all future business and all future referral business in just one phone call. (One last thing... the must outsource their calls out of the country, because phone line was crackly and the rep kept asking me to repeat myself.)

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE IN 20 YEARS !!
I ordered a cell phone on March 26. I requested express ?over night? delivery.
Cell phone was not shipped to me.
I was told that I needed to pay a security deposit.
I agreed to pay for a security deposit. I was charged a security deposit.
Cell phone was not shipped to me.
Wirefly said my credit charge for the security deposit was approved.
Cell phone was not shipped to me.
Verizon could not correctly process the security deposit charge, even though it showed up on my bank online statement.
Wirefly and Verizon could not work together and get the matter resolved.
Cell phone was not shipped to me.
I made many calls to Wirefly to get the matter resolved.
Long periods on hold.
Bad phone connections. Lag time in conversation to India whenever a Customer Service person could actually be reached.
More lag time when switched to a supervisor.
Cell phone was not shipped to me.
Wirefly blamed Verizon for delays. Verizon blamed Wirefly or my bank for the delay.
I made repeated phone calls. I sent emails.
Cell phone was not shipped to me.
Wirefly and Verizon were incapable of coordinating efforts to execute a simple purchase order.
Customer Service people at both organizations were polite? and totally incompetent.
Eventually, on April Fool?s Day, the cell phone was shipped out.
I received the phone April 2nd.
I had been charged a phone ?activation fee? with this order.
Not only was the phone NOT ACTIVATED, it could not be activated by Wirefly nor Verizon that entire day.
On April 2, the phone was activated.
Bottom line: 8 days after I place an order for a new cell phone, I finally have a functional, activated phone.
Throughout the process, the telephone service & contact with Wirefly has been aggravating at best.
Long periods on hold.
Poor quality sound when connected to a person.
Repeatedly (4 or more times with each call) asked the same questions (order number, last 4 digits of SSN, my name) throughout the process.
And always a lag period in the line which made active conversation very difficult.
Difficulty understanding foreign customer service reps on the other end of the line.
EVERY STEP IN THE PROCESS OF HANDLING THIS ORDER WAS SCREWED UP & DELAYED.
YOU OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED.

my only dislike of wirefly they let me order a product that they were out of and also had a back order for I payed for express shipping, I ordered my phones on july 22 did not recive my phones until aug 3 also when i spoke to wirefly on july 25 they said they were expecting another shipment in two to three days, when I called back four days later the man said they should have never said that and asked if i would like to go with att. Again i told the csr no I wanted what I ordered on line thats why i ordered it. Also I recived many calls from forigners who kept asking my under age daughter to please go ahead and go with att she repeatedly told them she was not me and could not do that.

The web site is very informative, and otdering is quick and straightforward. The prices are good, and the shipping is quick and free.
BUT:
The phone was sent to a random non-existent address. My emails were ignored until Icalled, but the phone was sent back by FedEx anyway. Customer service is not competent and somewhere in India, it seems. Spent 1.5 hours on the phone trying to restart the order - this turned out to be a waste of time, as the new order got canceled almost immediately. I am stuck now with neither mobile phone nor service for 3 weeks already, with no end in sight. This review could have been way better, had the order gone to the address I specified at the time of ordering.
