Ordered costume 9/10. Was told it was on backorder but was assured I would receive by 10/25. Was notified by email on 10/24 that costume was still not in stock and I probably would not have in time for Halloween. I cancelled my order, and had to tell a 7 y.o. that her costume wasn't coming. We had no choice but to run around frantically to find a replacement costume at the last minute. Extremly disappointed in Chasing Fireflies will not order from again!!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible terrible terrible customer service.  Time-sensitive items (Halloween costumes) took a week to ship out;  items did not arrive within the website's stated guarantee of 7 - 10 business days, and customer service was not at all helpful.  Will not shop there again.

Buyer beware.  The merchandise from chasing fireflies is not only expensive, it could come defective - ie. easily breaks, and the company will not refund or exchange for a replacement.  I spent over $150 on my first order with chasing fireflies.  One of the items purchased was their silver tiara.  My daughter wore it maybe five times and the comb piece just feel off.  I called the company and they said there was nothing they could do.  All-in-all it ends up being over $5/wear and I am expected to throw it out and just buy a new one.  Their customer service is terrible as are their products.  I will never shop there again.  Think twice before buying their merchandise.

In September, I ordered two Halloween costumes for my children and paid for 3-day expedited shipping.  Confirmation email confirmed that items would ship within a few days of my order.  They never arrived.  I called the 800 number - the representative was basically an off -hours hired hand who had no authority to help me.  Was told to call another 800 number during California business hours (I am in EST).  After waiting an inordinate amount of time on hold, was told that my costumes were IN and that they would upgrade my shipping to overnight so I would have the costumes by the weekend.  I recieved one.  On the Monday before Halloween I received an email that the costume I ordered (which they told me was in their warehouse) would not be "produced" by their vendor.  In other words, it never existed.  My 6 year old cried.  I will never order from this company again and urge anyone who will listen not to order from them either.

Terrible customer service. I would never recommend purchasing from this online/mail order retailer. For the prices they charge you should receive excellent customer service and without a doubt they fail in this arena. I've purchased only once and the item was about 3 sizes to small and they wouldn't pay shipping to return or refund shipping charges on my order. There was no way this item was sized true to size. I thought I would give them one more chance but the second time I called before ordering to confirm sizing on a pair of shoes. I was rudely told that I could call back and speak to customer service but the ordering representative had no more information on sizing than what I saw in their catalog. When I asked if you she could tell me who to speak with because I wanted to know if these were European shoes as they tend to run small. SHE said I told you CUSTOMER SERVICE. When I asked for her name she hung up on me. Can you believe a company that operates in such a way with their phone representatives. Don't waste you time or MONEY with this retailer.

The customer service is sooooo slow - placed an order long time ago but they kept on delaying the delivery.

This is the second year I have ordered Halloween costumes from this company. Both years were frustrating to say the least.

I placed my order months in advance, July 2 2009. However, before I placed my order online, I called Chasing Fireflies to confirm that this year would NOT be a repeat of last years empty email promises, numerous phone calls to customer service, and months and months of delays. The Chasing fireflies representative assured me that last years “problem” had been taken care of and I would be receiving this years costume when promised!!!

So I took my chances and ordered again...

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!
