Pros: Great functionality, the sound is clear, the speakerphone works well.
Cons: Clicking noise on the base and low battery life on the handset
I brought my KX-TG2770 Base Unit and my KX-TGA270 Handset in for service. 1) The KX-TG2770 Base Unit had a unbearable clicking noise every 3 to 10 seconds after the unit warmed up. Very frustrating when you're attempting to have a conversation with ...

Pros: Many features such as downloadable phone directory from base unit to cordless phone. Cons: Cordless phone gets scratched the first time it is dropped onto a hard surface.
This phone system is a good all round performer and easy to use. Has neat features such being able to check answer machine mailboxes from cordless phone and download phone directory from base unit to cordless phone. Below is a wish list of features ...

Pros: Voicemail, Battery life, Up to 8 handsets, Speakerphone, Dialing directory Cons: None.
We had a old Cordless Phone w/ a built in answering machine from the "49MHz age". We would get fuzzy reception in any room except room w/ the base station. Even IN that room, the signal would get fuzz sometimes. Moving more than 2 rooms away and ...

I'm not getting the greatness
by tontileo ,Dec 18 '04
Pros: It does allow me access to the phone lines. I like the directory features. Cons: Bad sound quality and very limited recording time for incoming messages.
Having had Panasonic phones in the past I was open to trying this one, especially after researching and reading reviews on the product.
One crucial fact no review mentioned was that the unit only has the capability to record 15 minutes of messages total. That is including your outgoing message and the 3 inboxes. After a few months of use, I find that my mailbox will only hold a minutes worth of messages and that is when it is completely empty.
Sound quality on my unit almost makes the scanty message times moot. As the message plays the sound quality gets worse and the caller ends up sounding like they are gargling broken glass on the bottom of the ocean.
All in all a very bad experience for me as I wanted an all in one unit to save space and splitting my signal. Now, I find myself having to purchase a separate answering machine so I can have adequate time for callers to leave me a message.

TOP OF THE LINE
by juinfille ,Dec 29 '03
Pros: Has almost every conceivable feature!
Love the handset AND the cordless in one system Cons: I didn't buy it sooner!
We LOVE this phone!
With the help of Consumer Reports and Epinions.com reviewers we went out and bought this phone. We had already gone through 2 cordless phones. One we loved most things about, but the handset was uncomfortable & tiny as well as the sound quality being very poor. SOOO we were looking for THE BEST this time.
We feel we found what we were looking for in this phone. The sound is GREAT on both sets & all the features make it very convenient!

Features galore, poor sound
by rab767 ,Mar 21 '04
Pros: Every feature you can think of and excellent build quality. Typical Panasonic really. Cons: 2.4GHz system is flawed compared to 900MHz when it comes to noise.
This phone has ALL the features that you can think of. Panasonic really didn't leave anything out. Except for telling you that 2.4GHz is inferior to even the old 900MHz system when it comes to noise.
I love this phone, just everything I ever wanted in one. But unfortunately, there is a whoosh or hiss type noise that is constant on all handsets, including the corded one. Initially I thought it was either my line or the phone I just got was faulty. I tried three, all the same. Strangely enough my old Panasonic 900MHz is noise free on the same line.
It wasn't until I finally got a detailed reply from Panasonic Technical customer care that admitted that 2.4GHz has this issue whereas 900MHz doesn't, while hinting that 5.8GHz should be about the same as 900MHz. Now don't get me wrong, audio quality itself (conversation etc...) is excellent, its just that there is this noise in the background that is quite annoying, especially if you have good hearing.
I guess I will be keeping my 900MHz unit until 5.8s come down in price.

Panasonic KX-TG2770S
by robertw29 ,May 24 '05
Pros: Provides an in-home/patio intercom system Cons: Very limited time for recording messages. Poor sound quality on satellites.
It is unusual for Panasonic to release such a poor product--quite disappointing. Sound quality on satellite phones is often so poor that conversations must be terminated.

Very competent performer
by b4ubuy ,Feb 17 '04
Pros: Laden with features, excellent range, attractive case. Cons: Some features require patience to master.
Bought to replace an unreliable product that I've owned for several years. It is somewhat difficult to understand and make use of the many features of this phone, but careful reading and experimentation are rewarded!
The answering unit is particularly good and has many features that I find valuable.
The ability to transfer callers lists to the handset by pressing a few buttons saves a lot of time.
The range was far greater than I had anticipated, and I have not had any problems with interference from other devices.

everything I needed...
by katewh ,Jul 17 '04
Pros: Multi-functional. Cons: Panasonic loves their self too much.
This system has everything I needed including ease of use.
The only negative... Panasonic loves their self so much that they advertise all over the phone... "MultiTalk" "expandable to 8" "Digital Answering System" "2.4 GHz Gigarange Expandable Digital Spread Spectrum" Thanks Panasonic but I don't need to be reminded why I bought the phone every time I make a call.

Great Phone System
by sargeh2o ,Oct 14 '03
Pros: Great sound, expansion, etc. Cons: Have to charge handset 15 hours before initial use.
The fidelity is very good. This was a concern (kinda picky).
The expansion capacity is also a plus.
Range (roughly 100 yards +) is what I would expect, with very little static.
Attractive base unit with large display, easy to use. Intuitive..., well made.
Sorry if the above review sounds a little... guarded. I've purchased several of these devices with a lot of disappointment. But this one is really great! The base unit is corded and the handset sounds like a corded phone. There are mailboxes (3) and a lots of utility regarding privacy, conference, transferring, caller id, call waiting, paging, and even radio contact between several handsets.
For those with really young kids, there is a "baby monitor" mode!
In short, this is a nicely designed phone system with a lot of expansion, sounds great and is priced well.

Couldn't be Happier!!!
by juniors22 ,Nov 05 '03
Pros: Range/Reception; Expansion Capability; Ability to talk on more than 1 handset at a time Cons: Deleting Caller ID on each handset, Message Light quits flashing if you've listened to messages
Purchased this product this past year after months of research (my wife thought I was nuts - but now she is glad I did - see below). The Internet was the most helpful and convenient way to do this.
We wanted a system that had a corded handset w/digital answering machine for our kitchen and the capability to have at least two other handsets (1 for upstairs 1 for downstairs). We decided to purchase the "kx-tga 273s" additional handset (bedroom phone/alarm clock/radio). Cleaned up our nightstand tremendously - thank god.
I could go into all the numerous features this system offers - but that would take forever. We use the majority of them (the manual explained them in easy to learn terms).
All in all, like the title says "we couldn't be happier" with our purchase and the cons I described are not really cons, just minor inconveniences.

I love this phone!
by dankuvasz ,Nov 07 '03
Pros: Great sound and range. Good Features. Cons: Cannot move messages to another mailbox. No manual channel selection.
I bought this phone in June and reserved judgment until I used it for a while. My choices were limited due to the features I wanted. I wanted a digital, 3 mailbox voicemail, a cordless handset, and my wife wanted a corded handset. I tease her about being a Luddite but she has small hands and the large cordless handsets are uncomfortable. I was forced to apologize to her during the blackout in August because it was the only phone in the house that worked.
As a rule I like Panasonic gear. This phone didn't let me down. The sound is good, the range is great, and I like the separate charger stand for the cordless. I would have preferred a manual channel selector as it interferes with my 802.11g router on some channels. That was fixed at the router end though. The only other complaint I have is that I can't transfer a message from one mailbox to another.

Wonderful system at good price
by virgaries ,Dec 25 '03
Pros: Quality, price and features. Cons: Haven't found any yet.
After researching, this system jumped out. Having a home office, I used a Uniden cordless system. The handset inevitably ran out of power at the wrong times and I was without a phone. Panasonic smartly provides a base unit and remote, each with a dialing pad.
It is an attractive, high quality device I would recommend highly. There are too many features to list including speakerphone (also from remote)conferencing, ring tones, etc.
I couldn't be more satisfied...and I can add more hand sets.
