Easy To Live With
by akousen21 ,Oct 20 '05
Pros: Easy set up, excellent picture quality Cons: Component video inputs are not used for HD, only for DVD or DVR.
I am pleased with the performance, the ease of set up and the quality of picture. NTSC tuner internal to the TV, and COX Cable digital set top equally provide decent picture. DVD performance is outstanding- True blacks, excellent shadow detail and picture so clear and sharp it's like looking at a high quality photograph. I am impressed. Internal Audio was fine- outputs are provided for external Amp and speakers.
HD performance is dependent on the quality of signal provided. On COX HD signal in Fairfax, VA, HD performance varies program to program and network to network. Satellite is more reliable and consistent. Printed instructions are wrong! HD signal is via TV-VGA to Component Video on COX Cable box.
This model has impressive automation. No more fat people, slim people, distorted images, or any other oddity and mismatch. The picture automatically adjusts to the signal provided.
The remote control has tiny buttons which can be barely read in normal room light, but the functions all work well and the menu's are logical.
