Great sound, controls sold me on this boombox.

Pros: Great sound for a boombox, remote control, easy-to-use controls. Cons: Still only a boombox's quality of sound.
Just thought I'd add my two cents about this boombox.
I've owned this boombox for 8 months, and I'm really glad I purchased it. I use it to practice ballroom dance in random hallways and rooms, and it's really done its job well. It doesn't look as stylish as the Sony PSYC boomboxes, and it's not as portable. I feel, however, that the sound is much better, especially the bass. Sure, it's not mind-blowing bass, but it's more than enough to keep the beat while dancing. The AZ2045's Dynamic Bass Boost really comes in handy when dancing, and can be turned off when listening to more balanced music.
The unit seems sturdy, but like most boomboxes doesn't have skip protection. Also, the AZ2045 I purchased had CD-R playback problems, seemingly when there were fluctuations in temperature or humidity. I talked to Philips customer service and they replaced it with few questions asked. The second one has been fine for the past two months.
The AZ2055 is the replacement model for this boombox - it appears to be identical except for styling changes.
