Great for surfing and email, not for gamers.
by epinionkobe ,Feb 27 '04
Pros: Amazing quality picture, great adjustments, awesome design. Cons: 25ms rise and fall is just too much for any 1st person shooter.
If gaming is no big deal to you, then you will love this monitor. Easy to setup, it comes in a larger box than most because it is all assembled. It comes with free software that allows you to pivot the screen 90deg. The picture color, contrast and brightness are perfect.
However, if you play any games that move fast (UT2003, SOF2, and others...) you will feel dizzy and drunk. It's just not fast enough to play any games. After 2 min. I had to exit the game. I could not focus on a thing until I stopped. I think this would be true with ANY LCD monitor.
I am going to wait until this technology improves. They must get under 25ms.

Pros: Best monitor I have ever laid my eyes on. You will love this monitor. Cons: None
I just got mine from Dell with a new computer. I got it for $679... 10% off. This is the best monitor I have had. It is replacing a Sony 20-in CRT that did a great job for 7 years. I had bought a 17-in. Sharp(LL-t17A3), but returned it to the store. The text sucked on the Sharp monitor. This Planar PX191 monitor rocks. It's contrast ratio is 700:1 and there are no stuck pixels. Plus Planar has a 3-stuck pixel policy that Dell also backs up. I have found no stuck pixels. The text is sharp and so are graphics.

re Planar PX191 TFT
by sawfish ,Jan 15 '04
Pros: bright, crisp & everything promised!!
and no dead pixels Cons: Dell took their sweet time to deliver it
go lÔÔk for a better monitor. sure...at REAL heady prices.
for 700 bux, you won't come close.
this jewel could light up a neighborhood block.
picture is crisp. no dead pixels. makes my NEC FP2141sb
look like a dim bulb. (and until i fire up the PX191, i thought nothing would come close)
my old sony died a graceful death... i mention cause that trinitron was quality. but so is this Planar.
my only regret? that i didn't spend a few more bux to get the
21" 1600 x 1200 model. but my optometrist wasn't sure my eYes
could handle it!!
:)
Planar all the way, baby:::::::::::
