Pros: Beautiful output, when it works Cons: Frequent clogging, software so-so
After we downloaded the Kodak software to print on Kodak photo paper (the Epson software yielded mediocre results on Kodak paper) we loved our 820! The output is beautiful! We printed several 8x10s for neighbors, who were blown away that we could get...

Pros: Price, output Cons: CLOGGED HEADS !!!
This started out as a good buy. Price was fair, output quality reported in computer mags was excellent. But it soon deteriorated into ink cartridge hell. Unfortunately I do not print a lot of photos. I soon discovered that if you do not use this printer...

Pros: For the occasional use it's price is well worth it. Cons: OVERALL, CARTRIDGES ARE ***VERY EXPENSIVE***, Also a B & W issue.
I thought if I invested in a good digital camera (Toshiba 2.11 megapixel) and a really good photo printer (Epson Photo Stylus 820) within a reasonable price range I would have saved money over the long run. Instead I find using this printer for 'very...

Pros: Cheap Hardware, 6 month ago $ 135 and a $ 50 Rebate Cons: Lousy Warranty.Ink Sucker at $ 25 a pop.
I purchased my Epson Stylus Photo 820 after reading good reviews to replace an HP 870 CXI, that had provided great printing Services for 5+ years and would not feed properly anymore.
Rather than having the HP repaired, I decided to buy a new one,...

Pros: Excellent photo-quality,very affordable, borderless sizingand printing! Cons: Uses up alot of ink, the cartridges are expensive, not very fast at printing
This is the best photo-quality printer I have in my house. I use it in everyday, typing and printing, plus occasionally printing photo-copies. For the price you cannot beat it, and the quality will show that it should be much more expensive. I have...

Pros: Great quality prints Cons: Slow print starts.
The print quality is excellent, but if you have anything other than a system with a Pentium 4, do not get this printer. On my wife's Pentium 233 w/ 256M of RAM, the printer took 45-60 seconds to even start printing for a one page document, plus the...

Pros: Excelent prints on Epson Glossy paper Cons: Ink hog, pay $30 for 10-15 pages printed. Cannot stay idle.
I own several Epson ink-jets, and Photo 820 is one of the members of my printer graveyard. Epson piezo technology requires very fine nozzles, which use to clog with drying ink if you do not let printer print for a week. After that, expect to spend half...

Pros: Cheap! Cons: Everything. Not worth the stamp to mail in the rebate with
I got this printer with a new computer purchase and was free after rebates. After having owned an Epson ActionLaser 1000 for many years I thought the quality, dependability, and ease of use would be great. Boy was I wrong! This thing is a piece of...

Pros: Great little printer for the money!! Cons: noisy, ink usage
This is my third Epson printer but my first photo. I'm used to the noise, cleaning printheads, speed, and various other Epson quirks. The Epson 820 photo makes fantastic prints from my digital camera and also off the photo CD that I get with my...

Pros: Cheap Cons: Noisy, ink heads clog excessively, paper feed unreliable
I had two of these and regret ever having to use the units. Not only did the heads clog up excessively and waste ink ... I wasted expensive label and print paper. Both units are now in the trash. Was told later by a computer science grad that the whole...

Pros: Great Prints Cons: INK INK INK, Noisy, Slow
Uses ink like no other. After going through two printers (both lexmark) I finally got a photo quality printer. I wished I knew how much ink it used before I had bought it. This is not the printer to buy if you print a lot of papers and not so many...
