Pros: works great... some of the time!! Cons: Doesn't work routinely!!
I have owned this unit for a year and a half and have had to return it to the manufacturer twice for service.... This after I had to send my original unit back for warranty replacement 3 (THREE!!) times. Five trips to Fed Ex to get this thing working? NOT WORTH IT!! I have never written an Epinions review before, but I've never been stood up by a product like this either! BOTTOM LINE: Read the other reviews and DON'T BUY IT, no matter how good it may sound.
Mostly good with some caveats by johnwunderlin ,Feb 05 '04
Pros: Hands free, excellent quality results, fairly easy setup. Cons: Water soluble ink is easily smeared when wet.
I just received the Primera Bravo CD duplicating system yesterday. It was quite easy to configure and install- be sure you have a firewire port, or you must purchase one before using this product! Once it was installed, I printed a CD. The quality was only fair at this point. Then I aligned the cartridges per the instructions and then the quality was excellent.
Most reviews of the product have been glowing, but there are a couple of warnings:
1) If you already own Surething CD-Labeller, it is somewhat challenging to get your existing .std files transferred over.
2) The final result is water soluble- don't sneeze on the disk or let it get wet- the ink will run.
Good deal for the money by fabulous_phil ,Jan 05 '04
Pros: Full colour burn and print on demand.
Fully networkable on your intranet. Cons: Proprietary ink cartridges.
Smaller out put capacity per session.
I have been working with this product for two years now and am quite satisfied with the performance for the kind of money I had to put up. If you price compare, the Bravo is $3000.00 to $6000.00 less than any other product on the market that will do what this machine will do. The only bad thing I could say is that the ink is proprietary so I have to buy it from a dealer rather than from my local office supply store. Ive found a great supplier called Western Imperial Magnetics located in British Columbia Canada. They have great prices on ink and discs. On the other hand, getting labels printed in colour at a print shop isn't cheap either. For a networkable duplicator and full colour printer all in one the Bravo is a good entry level machine in deed!
Pros: When it works, it's great Cons: Usually doesn't work
Our machine is less than three months old and is on its way back to the manufacturer for the second time. First, the CD burner decided not to burn anymore CDs so that was a two-week down time. Now, it has decided not print or pickup anymore cd's. Buy a different brand or plan to spend alot of time babysitting a supposed automatic machine.
