Pros: * Right idea: play MP3s on "any" disc format
* Nice to have CDRW capabilities Cons: * Problems reading DVDs
* Awful remote control
* Can't play DVD videos to TV
I've been waiting and waiting for a portable DVD-ROM MP3 player, so I jumped and bought this Sony MPD AP20U as soon as I saw it was available. The potential of carrying 100 albums worth of music per DVD makes the portable DVD-ROM MP3 player a great con ...
Pros: Compact size Cons: Awful earbuds and remote control
I was going to upgrade my laptop and desktop to include DVD when I saw this thing and thought "Hey, I can use this thing!", particularly since there was a store and manufacturer rebate involved. I got it home, loaded the B clip software and Power DVD, ...
Pros: Works like a dream on USB 2.0 and the charge cradle is sooo cool Cons: Sucks on USB 1.0, experience could be improved.
Here's the skinny -
USB 2.0 and this Device is AWESOME!
MP3 playback - at least 9 or more hours
Minimum 9 hours of BURN TIME!!!
Fast, fast, fast... on USB 2.0
Terribly slow on USB 1.0 and semi hard to config for best optimum...
Pros: Great idea to combine a walkmen and a burner into one box Cons: The result is a total failure
Burner is not compatible with Toast, it starts burning a CDR and then stops. The software that comes with it requires all file names to be PC way (and turnes all letters to capitals) so it's incredibly annoing for a Mac user. Plus all of the (3) disks I managed to record had some errors on them.Tabletop attachment is a pretty confusing thing too: I bought the player to save room, it looked smaller comparing to average external burners, but with theattachment and all the cables it's rather takes more space. The player itself is too heavy and bulky to be used as a walkman. So, the player was supposed to have several uses, and doesn't have any. Went straight to my junk closet.
Pros: cd player and burner works ok Cons: see review
Distorted Audio & Video when playing copyrighted DVD's. My PC has Power DVD 5.0 software and had no problems when I use it to play my built in DVDROM. When the Sony was hooked up to the USB, thats when the problem starts. Try playing Spiderman Widescreen Edition, scene-17 where Macy Gray starts singing at New York Times Square and you will see and hear what I am talking about.
