Pros: Easy to wash, Timed settings, Can cook almost anything, Low maintenance Cons: Doesn't actually cut and wash the vegetables for me before cooking them
Many moons ago, when I was doing my bridal registry, I begged my husband to put a Crock Pot on the list. For several years afterwards, I nagged at him to buy one whenever we passed one in the store. He kept turning me down because he didn't see any value ...
Pros: Looks good, cooks well, lasted quite a while so far Cons: Lid handle broke off, timers could be better
It's that crockpot time of year again. I've been through a few - but they always seem to be Rival. This one, as far as I'm concerned, has been the best so far. Not perfect, but not bad. I received this as a birthday gift about a year and a half ago ...
Pros: Sleek design
Nice price
Lid fits on tightly to prevent steam loss. Cons: Touch pad died too quickly.
Unit gets hot to the touch.
I've been a big fan of Rival slow cookers since my mom bought one when I was a kid. I loved coming home from school and smelling her Coq au Vin, the dish I still cherish most. I needed a new slow cooker and opted for the sleek looking Rival model with ...
Pros: Cooks great, timer, and nice looking. Cons: It gets very hot on the outside of pot.
I would have to say this Slow Cooker's best feature how fast it cooks your food. This slow cooker does get very hot on the outside. I would not leave it in a spot where children much touch it. The handles do not get hot which is one thing I looked for ...
Pros: the automatic switch to "keep" after the time has run down Cons: need to factor in a shorter cook time for an oval cooker over a round
I purchased this about 1 month ago and have used it about four times. My first attempt was chicken and dumplings. I had to reread the instructions to make certain that setting it was as easy as it seemed. You simply press the temperature button until ...
Pros: Nice appearance, nice insert, cooks food quicker than most other crockpots, nice size. Cons: Plastic handles break easily, replacement costs were not reasonable, not worth the money.
I bought this unit because of the name brand and because of it's size. I use my crockpot at least once a week on average, so I was willing to invest in something that would last. My first unit had a malfunction and the manufacturer finally allowed me ...
Pros: Food comes out so tender and full of flavor! Cons: I have nothing negative to say!
I bought this product at a Home depot store because It was on clearance for $24.99 and I have been meaning to buy a slow cooker for quite some time now.... I figured I couldnt beat this price and the brand helped seal the deal for me. I had no idea how ...
Pros: Looks nice. Cons: WAY too hot for normal use.
I purchased this crock pot in anticipation of making a huge spaghetti dinner for the Boy Scouts of America. What drew me to this particular slow cooker was the capacity (6 Quarts), the timer (4 or 6 hours high, 8-10 hours low), and the "keep warm" ...
Pros: Sleek looking stainless and black exterior, with an updated LCD control and timer. Cons: Unreliable cooking time and stainless body of the cooker is extremely hot while cooking.
I received the Rival Oval Programmable Stainless Steel Crock Pot (5.5-qt) as a Christmas present. My crock pot was over 20 years old. It still worked but the temperature/on/off knob was becoming unreliable and I wanted an oval crock instead of the ...
Pros: Easy, nutritional, delicious meals. Great way to use whatever you have. Just throw it in! Cons: Must fill up or food sticks and burns. A bit heavy for me to handle.
I was a professional cook and it is still my passion. Having had a restaurant and catering business, I have practically every cooking device ever invented by mankind. Yet, I have never used a slow cooker until recently. A friend made ribs in a slow ...
I bought this crockpot with confidence approximately two years ago. I figured Rival was a well known brand name, and my parents' crockpot has lasted over 30 years. I used it with no problems on an occasional basis (once a month, or so). After owning it for just under two years, the crockpot no longer heats up AT ALL. When the crockpot is set on high, there is NO heat after several hours. How disappointing, after owning it for less than two years.
I love the idea of crockpots and plan on buying another, but will likely not go "digital" this time. I will try one with an old-fashioned "Hi-Lo" knob, like the one my parents have owned since 1976, which still works.
Pros: Looks nice, has a timer Cons: Way too hot when on making it inconvenient to use
I bought this slow cooker and was excited at the prospect of having one big enough to cook a dinner for my family.
It looks sleek with the stainless exterior, has a functional timer BUT all of that goes to waste when you turn it on. It gets so HOT that I would be uncomfortable leaving it on without constant supervision.
My food did cook, but burnt a little on the bottom (it was spaghetti sauce).
Very bad crock pot - DO NOT BUY by chili4 ,Feb 14 '06
Pros: THIS DOESN'T APPLY - NO PROS Cons: THE WORST CROCKPOT I'VE USED
I found this crock pot very disappointing. At first I thought I had purchased a "bad" one. After a long, drawn out experience with the Rival people, they did send me another one, which by the way was just as bad. The first one burned my countertop and released the seam, which now has a permanent defect. The second one is just as hot and burned the food. The top does not fit and spits hot water all over the place. Now I have two such crock pots which I will take to the dump the first chance I get! For your own safety - DON'T BUY THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.
POOR DESIGN I returned for refund by notsoltd ,Jul 24 '08
Pros: Didn't see any. Cons: Poorly designed product. Put emphasis on looks and not function.
Was thrilled to get my crock pot only to find out the lid fit poorly. Lids are pretty basic and aren't rocket science. It should fit. Period. Large gaps between the lid and crockery. Poorly designed. They put the emphasis on looks and not functionality.
