Cons: no built in fax, slow first print.

The Sharp AL-1641 CS performs all the necessary functions any school teacher, that's environmentally conscious i might add, may need.

In the past 3 months, this household plowed through 12 reams of paper (500 count), 2 staples transparency packages (100 count) and various assortments of colored paper.

During the course of printing, I've changed the toner cartridge 3 times (first toner cartridge was a starter kit of course).

The issues:
We've had 4 paper jams--
Printer takes a while to print job when suspended in sleep mode--

A print job example: (2 sheet lesson plan)
1) A master lesson copy is printed out on 2 separate laser transparencies.
2) A Hard Copy is printed out on 2 sheets of regular paper.
3) The two sheets of paper are copied (duplex) for 35 students.

Each day this printer takes a beatin'-- but its performed like Wayne Newton on a busy Vegas night.
