Standard Horizon HX471S (824 Channels) Two Way Radio

Pros: Compact, light weight, waterproof, and with channels to hear radios from planes, and FM radio.
Cons: None

I purchased this radio two years ago, and it has worked great for me. I have used in my sailboat all that time, to call the launch to pick us up. I also listen to the weather on it, as well as channel 16 for emergencies, and had not problems. The radio is waterproof, so a few times got wet when raining, but it was ok. It has a charger to use it in the boat, or with an adapter at home. The battery lasts a long time.

Pros: Built well
Cons: POOR RECEPTION

I just bought this yesterday after thorough research.
IT IS AWFUL! Very poor reception on all bands.
The sound is bad too, if you are lucky enough to get a clear channel.
