Pros: Great picture and sound Cons: Haven't found any yet
I researched this purchase very carefully when wanting to buy a 2nd TV for my son's bedroom - that I could also use at times he was elsewhere! When I discovered that for roughly only $50 more, we could get the Toshiba flat screen instead of the...

2 bad tv's
by MelAnnDoll ,Nov 18 '03
Pros: Beautiful picture! Love it, when it's working! Cons: Apparently a defect that I must now pay for!
I purchased this tv from Best Buy in March of 2003. Within a month it was constantly turning off. So, I went and exchanged it for the exact same one. Now, 8 months later, my tv is doing the same thing! Now, under warrenty for parts but not labor. I had to take it to an authorized toshiba dealer...only one in Kansas City. Now it will be two weeks before they can even look at it to give me an esitmate! I am not a happy camper, seeing as it is the only tv I own. Also, this is probably a known problem since I had two tv's that did it.

This set does the trick for a second set in the bedroom. Good sound, Acceptable (but not well defined) picture quality. The wavy line is not pronounced if you are farther away.

After responding to a Sears...
by scratch_dt3000 ,Dec 19 '02
After responding to a Sears sale advertisement for a 23" Sylvania television, we chose, instead, this 20" flat screen set as a replacement for our 18-year-old Sylvania 19" bedroom TV. Our decision was based on a side-by-side picture/sound quality comparison. In our opinion, the extra $100 spent on the Toshiba flat screen was worth it. We could have saved $100 to $150 by shopping via Internet or electronic stores not locasted in a shopping mall. Great set; very sharp picture, sound, and easy-to-use controls. The deep box makes it jut out from the entertainment center about three inches further than the old set.
