It's hard to go wrong with this machine

by bri25sfo , Jan 18 '04
Pros: Screen Speed Power Hard Disk Capacity DVD-RW Built-in WiFi Screen Screen SCREEN!
Cons: 32 MB VRAM may not be enough for hard-core gamers Big and somewhat heavy
What can I say? The Toshiba P-25 series is such a value that it got me to switch from the Macintosh (where I'd been a loyal user since the mid 1990s). With the P25 series, you get a lot more than you paid for. . . a long list of great software and ...

Desktop killer!

by ten4life , Dec 16 '03
Pros: 17 inch widescreen, portable desktop power, wireless internet adapter built in, sleek looking, great value.
Cons: Battery life (What did you expect?), weight.
The Toshiba P25 series of laptops have ushered in a relatively new a era in regards to laptops. Anyone that knows Laptops has surely heard the name Toshiba more than a few times. I was no exception. I owned a Dell Inspiron before I bought my new Toshiba ...

by nova21 , Aug 09 '03
Pros: Huge screen, good sound, integrated wireless connectivity, DVD-R, and desktop cpu

Great screen and electronic function - key board a disaster.

by duggerdm , Nov 06 '03
Pros: Great screen, sharp images, great dvd, good for presentations, best lap top sound system.
Cons: Distracting reflection producing screen frame, heavy, hot, and a keyboard that sucks.
The other early reviews have said most of the pertinent stuff. We know Toshiba builds durable laptops - the P25 is not exception regarding durability. However, Toshiba should take a few human anatomy lessons. I will never buy another desk top and the T ...

Excellent desktop replacement
by antennaball ,Sep 30 '03
Pros: Terrific big screen, speedy operations, good keyboard, good looking, all-in-one desktop replacement.
Cons: Heavy--not a daily portable, but OK for a vacation at the beach.
I've had this one for a few weeks and can say that it's done everything I've thrown at it. A surprisingly fast 2.8 GHz processor with a speedy bus, means fast operations generally. Having everything in one piece (as opposed to the desktop tower, the monitor, the mouse and keyboard cables, etc., helps a lot. The screen is huge and very nice indeed. I think Toshiba (and HP, and Sager) have stumbled on a brand new market niche. I read that they sold more than 4 times expectations with this model. It's already been discontinued and replaced, but the new model (as of 10/1/03) is not a huge upgrade. There may be a new model that is a significant upgrade around mid-month, is what I hear.

But why wait? This is plenty fast for almost everything you'll ever want to do. Hard core gamers may take exception to the video card, and you might want to add another 512 of memory. But otherwise this baby just shines on.

Highest recommendation.
