Pros: It looked real good on TV. Some good features. Cons: Heavy. Low-quality parts and assembly.
Boy, how I wish I'd read these reviews before I purchased the Fantom FM760 from HSN. Several of the reviews describe the problems I've had in the 5 weeks I've owned this piece of junk. I saw several presentations of this vacuum on HSN one ...
Pros: good suction, bagless is easy to use, it was easy to manuver around Cons: It fell apart piece by piece after 5 months, customer service from EuroPro is awful
I bought the machine on 6/13/03 from the Home Shopping Network. I am returning the machine on 12/29/03. At the very beginning, I thought I had found the perfect vacuum. It was a wonder machine, and I was impressed with the stair tool, and the power ...
Pros: Light weight, very good cleaner Cons: Hose is not long enough
Evaluate specific features of this product. This vacuum comes with an upholstery brush, furniture brush, extension wand and crevice tool. The handle of the vacuum actually converts into the suction house by releasing it from the base - very ...
Pros: Lots of attachments that are easy to use, great suction from the handheld wand. Cons: Heavy, hard to maneuver, ineffective on hard floor surfaces
Oh, the anticipation as I waited for my Fantom Twister to arrive! This purchase was a big deal for me--my first and only purchase from the Home Shopping Network. The television demonstration was masterful. I couldn't wait to have a vac that worked ...
Pros: Powerful vacuum with a good cleaning wand design. Cons: Bad design flaws render the vacuum useless after a short time.
I own a housecleaning service that used Fantom vacuums exclusively until Fantom Technologies went out of business. I was very happy to find that Euro-Pro had bought the Fantom name and was making Fantom vacuums again - until I bought one. I loved my ...
Pros: None Cons: Clogs constantly, poor suction, heavy, belt broke after 4 uses
After our dog chewed up our old Fantom vac (which had served us well since the mid 90's), we decided it was time to replace it (though it still worked). The old Fantom vacs utilized James Dyson's revolutionary Dual Cyclonic vacuum system (which I bel ...
Pros: A great Vacuum
A good price Cons: It's an addicting vacuum cleaner.....your house will be cleaner though
My Twister Vacuum cleaner is absolutely wonderful. I have used it for about 3 months. It's HEPA filtration makes it a great vacuum cleaner for families with allergies. It has a light, a wonderful built in attachment-handle snaps off to use for a suction...
Pros: Great suction at first. Cons: Doesn't work for long.
My husband bought this vacuum when I was on bedrest with twins. When I was up and about again, I was a little dismayed that it was so heavy. I had to ask my husband to take it up and down the stairs for me (sometimes I had to wait days), but the ...
Pros: Nice to look at? Cons: Not as wonderful as HSN says!
I am one who has no problem spending money on a "GREAT" vacuum, have bought them all. And when I saw this vacuum on HSN, I just had to have it. Well, I am here to tell you, avoid this vacuum! The first thing I noticed was I had to go over and over the same area to get it to pick up small items, such as lint? Don't get me wrong, the canister would fill up with other things, that I don't know where it was coming from. I now think it was eating my carpet. Anyway, hardwood floors? Don't think so! AND NOW, I went to empty the canister the other day, put it back in, and it has stopped spinning. Nothing appears broken, just won't turn. So after many phone calls, and emails, I realized there is no one out there who will fix this contraption, so I am back on the prowl for another "GREAT" vacuum. It is cheaply made, alot of lightweight plastic throughout, and just a big headache. Wish I had of researched it before I purchased it.
Pros: very strong suction. Picks up everything. Cons: heavy
I purchased the Fantom Twister 500DX Bagless Upright with HEPA Filter from hsn after realizing our KIRBY($$) wasn't doing its job effectivly and boy was I right. WE got it and tried it immediatly and it worked great, better than we expected. We have a wood burning stove, and it picked up all the soot from the last 4 years I think. I emailed customer service about things I have read on this epinions board(belts breaking) and I got what I thought was a logical answer. IF the hose gets clogged the machine has to overwork, and the belt can break. IT has happend more than one time on my kirby and I never felt my kirby was junk. IT picked up all the tree needles from Christmas, cleans the stairs well. I use it to clean my tile floor. My boys even love to vacuum with it, because they see all the dirt their picking up. We have not experienced any of the problems that I have read about. THis may be a newer design? I am not sure?
I have had 2 belts break already and I've had the vacuum 3 months. This sweeper gets very hot after running 10 minute the sweeper gets so hot the belts break.
Say NO to Fantom Twister 760 by ascaffo ,Dec 29 '03
Pros: NONE Cons: Built to self destruct
With our great four year history of using the Fantom Fury, we thought the Twister was a sure thing. Thinking was our first mistake. Buying the Twister was the second. The first month was great. After that it fell apart piece by piece. It began with the belt breaking. Next, it sounded like it was dying when you turned it off. Turns out, it was dying. The vaccum turned itself on and off at will. Finally, it went to its rest in vaccum heaven. You may ask, "Why didn't you call customer service?" Well, we did. A total of four times. Euro Pro should rename Customer Service- Customer DIService. Operators were rude, and basically uninterested in my problems. I am a fighter for my money. There was no way to win with this company. We will never buy a Fantom product again.
Fantom Twister is a flawed design by mcombe ,Aug 12 '04
Pros: When it works it works great. Cons: Flawed design, possible fire hazard.
After we had our Fantom Twister for about 6 months it started cutting in and out while vacuuming. I took the vacuum apart and found the there was arcing in the electrical connector between the upright unit and the base. I applied some di-electric grease to suppress the arcing but that only lasted a few weeks. The connector has now burned through. Fantom's warranty policy requires you to ship the unit to them at your expense and include a check for $19.99 to cover return shipping. I can understand paying shipping to them but to have to pay return shipping is horrible. Due to the flawed design and poor warranty I would recommend not buying this Fantom Product.
This is by far the worst vacuum I have ever bought. I got this and within 1 month it was not working right. It turns on and off whenever it wants. It's suction is good on a bare floor, but no good on carpet. I have had 2 of your other fantoms and they were great. When I was looking for a new one, I could not find the model I have always bought before so I got the twister. I will never buy your product again.
DON'T BUY THIS VACUUM!!! by retail4lyf ,Oct 17 '04
Pros: empties easy, looks nice Cons: just about everything!!!!!!!!!!
i owned the older model Fantom (the thunder which i love!) but it is 8 years old so when i saw this new twister on HSN i leaped at it and got it right away. only later did i find out it is not the same company, they went out of business and some one else just bought the name Fantom. this vacuum is the worst! it has NO suction at all, picks up hardly anything. and it eats all my small area rugs. and doesn't work at all on bare floors, it spits everything out the back at you. the hose is too hard to use. and even at 5 feet tall i have to bend to turn it on. it also falls over VERY easily. which is bad if you have small children or pets. the cord is way too short. and the container doesn't hold much.
Running wires through moving parts... by derek_dt3000 ,Feb 07 '03
Running wires through moving parts of the chassis will inevitably lead to failure; this is what happened after a couple hours of use. With that said and believing in the pros, I spent an hour and rerouted wires for the motor outside the chassis, so far no problems. I love this machine.
This vacuum was compared to the Hoovers. I liked the feel of the Twister in the store. The handle wand is a nice feature. The durability leaves much to be desired. The belt broke and there is a spare in the box so I suspect the manufacturer expects that. The lighbulb is another story. It is bright when it was lit for the brief session of vacuuming before it blew. I am going to rethink my purchase and evaluate the Hoovers again even if I have to spend a little more for the durability and quality. I did minor vacuuming with this machine and had these problems, imagine someone who really needs it for heavy cleaning. I recommend looking at other models before considering this Fantom Twister.
FantomTwisterVacuum Cleaner Don't buy your are wasting your money by paula2389 ,Jan 17 '04
Pros: Nice looking vacuum Great power for the first 3 weeks. Cons: Broke down after 3 weeks, Electrical Problems A plenty with this vacuum
I would not refer this vacuum to anyone i will go back to Hoover I wasted 175.00 This truly is pouring money down the drain. Company has poor customer service.
Pros: Nice Looking and great machine for 6-9 months, then it's useless. Cons: Terrible mechanics. Power keeps cutting in and out at random. Not worth your money.
Bought this vacuum cleaner 10 months ago. Was absolutely wonderful for the first 9 months. Just a few weeks ago, the vacuum cut out on us when we pushed forward, turned back on as it was being drawn back. And more recently, it started cutting out in the upright locked position. Took it apart, couldn't find a single thing wrong, no pinched wires, no shortages. DO NOT BUY THIS VACUUM CLEANER. YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY! It looks nice, but it's a lemon of a machine. $150++ of our hard earned money just went down the tubes! And I'm not about to spend the money required to return it to the manufacturer because you can buy a brand new one for what it would run you to fix it. I will definitely be going with another vacuum, this time one that comes with much higher reviews.
