There is double trouble on the mean city streets in 'Double Dragon' for the Nintendo Game Boy. This button-bashing brawler, published by Tradewest in 1990, puts you in control of one of the Lee brothers on a sideways-scrolling 'beat-em-up' adventure to rescue a girl from an evil street gang. While the game does not offer a two-player co-operative mode, the single-player game is engaging and well constructed, with a variety of interesting baddies to beat up, and a motivating level design to keep you coming back for more. However, two players can have double the fun by linking up in a head-to-head battle for the accolade of ultimate dragon warrior. 'Double Dragon' was the first game from the successful franchise for Game Boy fans to enjoy, making it desirable for vintage video game collectors.
