Simply put, this is the best low priced Thai restaurant in Chicago. It is in the not so hip area of Lincoln Square (yes, square not park).

It is located at 4658 Western Ave. There is a free parking lot right across the street.

The curry dishes at this restaurant are all excellent. However, the gaeng mussamen is the best I could find while living in Chicago. The pricing is very affordable at about $8 a meal.

Be warned, it is a favorite with locals to the area, so there is usually a steady dinner crowd. However, the staff keeps up with to go orders with wait time of about 15 minutes, and restaurant service about 15-30 minutes. On weekends esp. Friday, expect to wait if you go during the dinner hour, but it is absolutely worth the wait.

In a city with good restaurants on every corner, Opart Thai is one of the few excellent ones available at a reasonable price.
