Pros:Fun in the two player mode, hours of enjoyment
Cons:The one player mode is frustrating until you get used to it
The Bottom Line: I strongly recommend this game, especially for couples looking for something they can both enjoy at the same time as a multiplayer, because it can be enjoyed by everyone
With the cute looking pink bunny and her trusty brown sidekick, this would appear to anyone at first glance to be a children's game. Although the game is labelled as being with a "for everyone" rating, younger children may have some issues trying to play it.
It is a co-operative puzzle game, packed full with challenging levels that somehow manage to be fun to play.
The Story of the Game
The festival of the moon, an annual festival is just around the corner, but the moon is nowhere to be found. Cookie and Cream set off to find it and bring it back.
Not the best story line in the world, but that is basically all there is to it. Amazingly, the story-line is well compensated for in the game play.
Game play
The screen is split in two vertically, rather than the typical horizontal split. There is good reason for this. Player One is of course on the left hand side (Cookie) and player two on the right (Cream). The object of the game is to reach the goal, before time runs out. Now the cooperative aspect comes into play, in order for each character to move forward on their side of the screen there are switches and wheels that the other character must move to allow this. For example if Cookie is stuck with no way to cross a lake, Cream must find the switch to lower the drawbridge on Cookie's side. It goes continuously back and forth like this. There are little silver and gold clocks that each character can get to extend the time limit for a longer period of time as well. What I just explained for the two player mode is the same in the one player mode, except that that one player will control both characters using both analog sticks and trigger (top L1, L2,R1,R2) buttons. Even the bosses at the end of the levels, you must work co-operatively to beat.
Graphics
The graphics are definately smooth, but hold the characteristics of a cartoon. The animation of enemies can be silly, but that is what the game is meant to be. The game's backgrounds look similar to that of the Crash Bandicoot games.
Overall
This game is definately a must have for anyone having the coordination to use the analog sticks to control their character. I do not recommend the one player mode as much, it is much more difficult to control. The two player mode is excellent
