Pros: Weight loss for life. Adjusts to your lifestyle.
Cons: Ability to choose from any combination of foods may be too undisciplined for some.

Jan, thanks for your advice. The main reason I like this program so much is because it allowed me to lose weight gradually without having to radically change my lifestyle. I tried changing our eating styles, and it was quite unsuccessful (hence the tofu-throwing comment). I did the soy-crumbles and other soy "meat" to attempt to come 1/2 way with my hubby, who grew up on a meat and potatoes diet and doesn't want to change. Unfortunately, it did a number digestively on us, and we decided it was not a good choice.

The WW program is not complicated (maybe I made it seem more complicated by adding in the details) and there are special programs for those who are vegetarians...there is a gal in our group who is a vegetarian and is doing very well on the program.

After going back and reading some of your reviews (and because of some other research I've been doing), my next plans are to work more of the "right" fats into our diet. We do eat a lot of fish and chicken, and I limit the red meat in our diet, so I believe it's a start.

Thanks again for your guidance...hope to see more from you in the future!

I congratulate you on losing that weight, but it sounds like way too much work and I wish you ate less pasta/bread and more monounsaturated fats and essential fatty acids. You know, there's a lot of delicious soy products without tofu, too. You'd lose weight faster and be more satisfied, I think.

Thanks Per-ster...I would really, really recommend WW if you've tried several other methods and haven't found one that works. They just seem to have the right combination!

Glad to be back...thanks for the encouragement!

And a big pat on the back to you for losing 30 pounds. That is a lot of weight. I've also tried every diet on the face of the earth, and usually end up larger than when I started after going off the diet. It's such a tough thing to maintain. The lifestyle changes have to be permanent, and it sounds like you've found a way to make that a reality.

Glad to see you writing again and have a nice holiday.
