The Bottom Line: You can not go wrong - especially out of the Chicago or Milwaukee area. I can not vouch for others, but I won't use anyone else for my travel needs.

I am not sure where all the negatives are coming from in this section, but we have used Funjet 3 times to travel to Mexico from Chicago and must say I would never consider going through anyone else. Flawless from top to bottom and prices that can't be beat.
My guess is that most of the negatives seem to be coming from those people who fly out of smaller cities where the charter service is run by some ho-dunk airline and only offers limited flights.
In Chicago, Funjet uses ATA out of Midway or TransMeridian out of Ohare. We have always flown out of Midway on ATA and it is 10+++. Basically, you cant even tell you are on a charter. For those that dont know, ATA is a Southwest clone in Chicago which has better service, assigned seats, TV and radio service.
Anyways, on all trips to Mexico Funjet has handled everything smoothly. Check in as you normally would at the airport, arrive in Mexico, locate the Lomas (Funjet) agent at the Cancun airport, he takes your luggage, puts in the the van, and off you go to your resort. Typically, you will make a few other stops at nearby resorts, which can take up to an hour, however, for a few extra bucks, you can get a direct transfer to your resort. Once at the resort, the Funjet guys unloads your luggage and takes you to the desk to check in. And thats that.....until you check out. They do ask that you spend 10 minutes with the Funjet travel guy/girl at the resort to go over any tours/excursions you desire, but there is no hard sell. At that time, they also give you the time you need to be in the lobby to take the shuttle back to the airport to depart.
Not once do you need to worry.
Again, I think most people who have slammed Funjet are mad because their airplace ride was bad or the resort they chose stunk. While one could say Funjet has some responsibility in the airfare part, they really dont. They have to use who they can in certain cities. If you pick a crummy resort, well, you should have done your research.
My fiance and I will be taking out 4th trip via Funjet this fall......
