Funjet - customer care, what a joke!!

Pros: Cheaper - maybe
Cons: NO customer care
The Bottom Line: Funjet does not care about you, the customer. You need to read their "Bill of Rights" and know that there is NO, NO, NO exceptions BEFORE you book with them!

I booked a vacation for myself and 4 other moms for a "girls only" weekend this summer. We do not get away every year and only have a limited amount of time and money so we found Funjet and a flight on Spirit that would allow us to arrive in the afternoon and leave late evening. Also save some cash. I also have a 5th person going to our destination on the same flight, but I booked hers directly with Spirit.
I get an e-mail this morning directly from Spirit saying that her (5th person) flight was changed and she would be flying home 6hrs. earlier than planned!! Yet I have heard nothing from Funjet. I immediately got on the phone with Spirit and they tell me that cancelled that flight from their schedule, permanently and from now on there will only be 1 return flight each day, leaving at 12:50pm. Basically, cutting our trip short so that we can travel early that last day. Spirit does have some good news - because it is change on THEIR (Spirit) part, we can either change her time at no extra charge or we can have her money refunded (normally non-refundable). So my thought is that we can keep our reservation the same just change air carriers. So I feel better and call Funjet . . . that feeling was short lived!
After about 4 hours on the phone between Funjet and Spirit, Funjet said that they have a "contract" with Spirit and CANNOT refund our tickets, CANNOT call their Spirit rep to find out IF our tickets could be refunded, and would be charging us $50/person on top of that to change the air carrier. Mind you, 3 Spirit reps told me that we COULD get a refund even through Funjet!!
Bottom line - Funjet could care LESS!!
I really want to cancel this whole thing . . . and after reading the other reviews I am so scared that something else will go wrong!! But it would cost us $200+ to get everything taken care of!! On top of everything else, we have NOT even received a notification from Funjet that our flight has been changed!!!!
Maybe all of this seems silly for 6 hrs. of vacation time, but we only have 4 days. Quite frankly it also cuts into our last night "on the town". We did not ask for the change, it was forced upon us! Even though Spirit changed our flight time they could not have been more helpful and apologetic. I have flown Spirit before and would do so again!
Of course, we have not left yet so this whole thing is, to be continued . . .
