Pros: Not a damn thing!
Cons: Horrible experience! Runaway from Funjet as fast as you can. Nothing is as advertised.
The Bottom Line: Walk away from Funjet! Better yet, run away from Funjet!! And remember, Funjet=Helljet.

I was to take a nice relaxing trip to the Gala Playacar in Playa del Carmen, Mexico ( Mexico is very hot in August) and fly Allegro (a charter flight from Funjet). The plane was a cattle car with no a/c. So we all where sweating until the flight took off. Once we arrived and went through customs we got on the bus to take us to the hotel. They serve cold beer ($2) on the bus, but the problem is there is no bathroom on the bus or a/c. So, if you need to 'go' after drinking the beer, you are SOL for an hour or so. Once at the lobby of the Gala resort you have to wait on hour in line to check in. Once we got to the desk we found out that the room was not going to be ready for another hour. By the way, the lobby does not have a/c. So you sweat more. Well, we passed time by eating at one of the buffets that are set up. Besides the food being very poor and the drinks horrible, the buffet resempled a livestock feeding. Once we returned to the lobby desk, we were taken to the room. But on the way we found out that there was no electricity to the building the room was in. We were on the third floor and we had no elevator. And the room had no electricity, no a/c. The funny thing is that the electricity is only turned on after 3:30 pm. Well once the electricity was turned on, we still had no a/c, so we called to have it looked at. We now ordered room service. Were told it would be 45 minutes. After an hour and 15 minutes the food and drinks arrived. The food was cold and the drinks were hot. The guy showed up to fix the a/c. He flushed the toilet, said the a/c was broken, and would return. But he did not say when. That was the last straw. We called the front desk and went down and spoke to a Funjet employee who would only say come back in 30 minutes and the problems would be solved. He never even asked what all the problems were. We returned several times over the next several hours only to be told to come back in 30 minutes. By this time we had been awake for 14 hours and have had no fun, only problems.
At 8:30 pm, having been at the Gala Playacar for over 6 hours, we left. We left the key with the front desk and took a cab to Cancun. The cab cost $50, but it took us away from Hell. We ended up checking into the Le Meridien Spa and Resort. We had finally arrived to a wonderful hotel and started what would become a great vacation. Please read my review of the Le Meridien, it is such a wonderful place with great food and staff. Since we had a round trip ticket, we had to take a Allegro plane back to the States. While sitting at the airport we saw people who has also checked in to the Gala Playacar when we did. These people looked tired and unhappy. We were refreshed and very happy, so we knew we had made the right choose by leaving the Playacar and Funjet. The flight back had no a/c, but we closed our eyes and thought of the wonderful time we had had at the Le Meridien. At this time we have contacted American Express to refund the monies charged for the Funjet vacation to hell. If anything, Funjet owes me money for the horrible experience. And the cost of the taxi to leave Gala Playacar!
