The SL 1000 Falco is a new concept 'light' sports twin, a new expression of Aprilia's exclusive technology and racing spirit. Words can't describe this motorcycle made up of pure sensations. From the incredible agility and handling to the fluid power output and unrivalled 118bhp at the crankshaft. From the impeccable, reliable mechanics, to the perfect and immediate symbiosis between the rider and its compact and enveloping lines. This is the SL 1000 Falco.
It would be easy to poke fun at the flowery language. But the thing is, this really is a very special motorcycle. It manages to combine the sense of solidity and reliability you get with a Japanese bike, with the sense of raw excitement and emotion you get with an Italian one. It is fairly easy to guess that its main targets are Honda's Firestorm and Suzuki's TL1000s - both half-faired big twins with non-racy alloy chassis. It handles better than either of them, and the motor falls between the Honda's ease of use and the Suzuki's eye-out madness. There is a harder, more mechanical feel to it than either of the Japanese offerings, but without the rattley, on-the-edge-of-reliability feeling of Ducati's 4 valve twins.
