I now own a second hand bought SL1000 Falco Aprilia bike manufactured in the year 2000.

The bike starts easily on choke. When the engine is relatively cold the choke should be still applied for a few km;s otherwise the motor might quit at a traffic junction stops. The running of the bike when warm is fine.
Riding the bike a low revs yields a lot of low frequency shudders, indicating that such conditions are not favoured. Above 3500 rpm all is well again and smooth acceleration is possible. Above 5500 rpm acceleration in the lower gears is starting to become fantastic and exhilirating above 7000 rpm. My buttocks start to slide backwards when opening the throttle up more than 1/2 in 3rd and 4th gears due to sheer engine power and acceleration above 6000 rpm. Really a fabulous sensation, which can readily lead to very illegal speeds !
Sitting position is a bit awkward in town traffic but excellent at speeds above 80 km/h. On highway conditions the comfort is good with sufficient protection from the wind when tucking away behind the bars and the windscreen.
Engine sound is moderate : comfortable to most neighbours. In my view the silencers dampen the sound a bit too much. Inlet noise is very stimulating, particularly when air inlet restriction plate is removed from the air box. The noise above 5000 rpm coming from the air box - directly below your own body - seems to call out for more, and more, and more. Unbelievably adrenalin heightening.
I have not yet dared to open up the throttle quickly and fully in first gear, as already in second gear a spontaneous wheelie may occur when the throttle hasn't even really been fully opened up yet.
I can go on and on like this. Which will not be necesary and practical. I have owned several bikes to date, all Honda (125 twin, 360 twin, 550 four and CBX 1047 six)and all provided me a lot of motorbiking pelasure. But the Falco stands out as being different. More FUN. More to play around with. More stability in tight corners, etc. In short : the best fun for money sofar.
I can really - like the other reviewers/owners - recommend this powerful piece of italian machinery (which is a lot cheaper than the RSV and no doubt at least as good).
