This bike is basically an all around winner in the 600 class. It is very responsive to any task you put it to. Turns go by like you were on rails.
What I didn't like about my F4 is the lack of a fuel display, the comfort factor for the driver. I have both a 929RR and an F4, and by far the 929RR is ergonomically correct as far as comfort. The F4 you’re more upright whereas the 929RR is more at an angle that is pleasing to both your arms and back.
I just purchased the 2001 F4i after I demo'd the bike. It has a better fell and seems to be a lot more comfortable than the F4. It's also a tad more responsive as well. But if you want a nice deep sound, I'd recommend a D&D exhaust. It shaved off 20 pounds of my dry weight and increased the performance a notch.
