| rohanoz's Full Review: 2000 Honda Elite 80 |
I got my CH-80 in 2000, and have since put 11,000 miles on it, commuting and zipping around SW Connecticut. It's OK in the looks dept; is good on gas; is terrific for carrying things and getting through local traffic; is easy to park and store, and is light so you can move it easily while it's static, or tipped over. it's also quick out of a light, and keeps up well with local traffic.
BUT - maintenance has been AWFUL. I spent $2000 on it new, and have since paid about $2500 in fixing problems. These include: fuel line issues, disintegrating chain drives, brake line issues, carburetor problems, muffler problems. And i keep the thing in a garage, under a tarp. The most annyoing issue would be the carb problem, as no matter how many times the air filter is clamped on, it continually falls back off, resulting in a LOUD scooter.
Also, it slows to a 15-20mph crawl on even slight hills, which is quite annoying, both to me and the drivers behind me.
