Pros: V4 engine, styling, Honda brand reputation
Cons: Voltage regulator problems on some bikes with no rhyme or reason...incredibly bad stock tires
The Bottom Line: I recommend the Interceptor for those who like more tour with their sport, as I do. It's hard to go wrong with the VFR800FI.

This really is a great all-around motorcycle. There are some complaints from the VFR community about several things: expensive bodywork replacement from parking lot tipovers, voltage regulators that go out for no reason (and the replacement fizzles within short order), incredibly fast wearing and slippery stock D204s, and a stock exhaust that inexplicably covers the massive amount of engineering that went into that single-sided rear swingarm. There is some debate about whether a 780cc motor is enough, or if a true literbike (998+cc) is required. However, when a really good package is presented from a manufacturer the only purveyance of a critic is to nit-pick, which is usually all we can do with the bike. It is plush enough to do 500+ mile days in the (Corbin) saddle, yet can corner strafe with the best of them (after replacing those dreadful D204s!). Maintenance is next to nothing with oil and air filters and oil changes topping the list. The bike has a built-in temp gauge which is especially appreciated. The overall aesthetics of the bike are quite feminine, with lots of rounded curves. Although many dislike the LBS at first, it seems to contribute positively since the bike is able to haul down speed much more quickly than anything else that I have experienced. The sound of the V4 engine growl (not unlike a built small block Chevy) combined with the cam gear whine is near orgasmic. Overall, the bike is a great all-rounder for those of us that require a little less severe riding position with our sporty good looks.
