| biggsquirt's Full Review: 2000 Honda Magna |
I'll start out by saying I just bought my Magna thanks to the reviews of this site. The Magna I bought from GW Cycle here in Calgary is an awesome machine. I bought the bike used for $8400 Canadian/$6100 US with 2400 Kilometers/1400 miles.
My first ride I ran out of gas and made it with reserve tank to nearby gas station. I was tripped at 150 kilometers/93 miles. I wasn't impressed but then I realized how fast and hard and fast I'd been riding the bike the days before.
The Magna loves fuel, but remember the life force running it. Sixteen valves(4 per cylinder)a big bore 750 and overhead cam "THIS BABY ROCKS!. I like to compare the Magna to my wifes Chrysler Neon. If you've driven a Neon you would understand.
In turns the Magna handles like a sport bike with a windshild it becomes a cruiser, you sit solid in the seat even on windy days dispite the Magna weighing only 508 lbs the bike is solid.
Unless you like cruising the highways at 190 km/hr or 120 miles per hour you might need a 6th gear but if your comfortable cruising about 120km/80mi 5 gears is plenty despite some reviews
As far as reviews saying the seat gives you numb-bum on long trips. I weigh 185 lbs and ride all day with no problems. My mechanic also had a Magna with no complants about the seat.I find it very comfortable.
