The "H" series Kawasaki KDX 200 has been around since 1995 with no major changes. The KDX 200 is probably the best 2-stroke trail bike ever built. While some of the new 4-stroke enduros are excellent on the trails, the KDX is quite a bit cheaper and still has lots of "go". The KDX can also be easily modified to increase performance. Some of the typical performance modification include: new pipe/silencer (FMF or Pro Circuit), reeds, re-jetting, airbox modification, performance air filter, fork springs, etc. The stock suspension is a little soft in front, being ideal for about a 135lb rider where rear is set up for about 180lb.
While the KDX 200 is at home in the woods, it is not ideal for motocross. Having a powerband focused more for bottom end to midrange, the KDX tends to go a little flat at higher rpm's. This can be somewhat overcome with an FMF gnarly desert pipe, which extends top end into higher revs. I've thoroughly enjoyed this bike and would recommend one to anybody. 2-stroke trail bikes may not be around for too much longer so get yours now!
